    Default ~New Sammy Interview~

    Note From Brett

Sorry guys, the site that produced the article wasn't happy that it was re-printed here without permission, so they wanted us to remove the story and just link to it. Whatever, it's only been up for almost 5 months. So here's the link if you want to read it.

Good read! This just proves that Sammy is one hell of a guy who really cares about the fans.

    Okay--

    A few things:

He's moving to Cabo in a few months...

The title says he's the former lead singer in VH...

He seems very happy to be on his own...

    And

Unless he's in 5150 until August...looks like another long wait for new Van Halen music

    Yes...

And he is VERY into his fans, which is cool.

I hope he's thinking about his VAN HALEN fans though, too!

Doesn't much sound like a guy anxious to do anything with VH again. These guys are old, time's a wasting, no way VH should cool their jets for a year waiting for Sam to come off the beach.

    Default honesty revealed !

I've got to tell you . I have fully appreciated everything Van Halen since the first album came out in 78 and I was old enough to enjoy it then and I have enjoyed everything that has been put out regardless of who is singing , even with Gary . But as far as it goes , I think Sammy goes past all of these guys put together . Just look at his website . What site has all of that stuff ? I don't know of any artist when you can go and watch interviews , TV appearances , videos , radio appearances , listen to songs from live concerts across many years . I mean the guy lays it all out there for the fans and I don't see how it can be argued . Go to the Roth site or VH site and there is nothing like that . He is one artist , besides Mikey who truly gets it . He knows without the fans , he wouldn't have anything he has . Hats off to the guy . I wish all artists had websites like his .

Hey, I agree. Sammy sounds like a great guy, he and Mikey are the best to the fans. I wish the bros. were more like them. However, Sam is almost 60 and the rest of the guys are in their 50's. I just don't think they have the time to treat things like Genesis/Phil Collins in the 80's, where Phil had a solo career and the band regrouped every 3-5 years. It sounds as though VH is done for now(good). At least with Sam.

Who is Sammy Hagar and why do his fans love this red headed rocker so much?

Okay, one thing, we all know that he loves us fans. He poses for pictures, he signs autographs for EVERYONE, and it's awesome to see that. However, you know Goddamned well that he keeps track of his finances. He wants to be able to release his solo songs as hit singles, he even said so in "Long Road to Cabo."
I love the guy, but if you love the fans so much, then give Eddie a call, it's what these fans really want.

Maybe it's time that VH move on and get another singer, we know Dave's available.

Thanks James. That was a great read.

I think Sammy is on cruise control right now. Let's face it. Sounds like the VH tour blew up internally. I also think Sammy is at a crossroad right now. He loves his solo carreer, but he knows he needs to continue the Van Halen legacy. Plus, I think he's getting tired.
Like Bilbo Baggins said "I feel thin, like some butter that's been spread over too much bread..."

Once he takes some time off, and decides what he wants to do, and if Ed is up to it, we'll get some more Van Halen.
"Keep honking buddy. I'm reloading..." -The Mard

    "......HEY!.............alright............." -BIG FOOT

" I know what you're thinking: "Do I want to watch Mard? We know that horses were very strong and could actually stop airplanes from flying away. The ones made out of stone called "statues" -- occasionally came to life and rode off is a colonial cliche. How many more times do we need to hear about how the oppressive Raj's wore villainous black capes, crafted cunning plastic masks to impersonate people, and drained all the blood from their slaves so they could keep the fluid in bottles in their dungeons? I mean, YAWN!

But if you're willing to sit through this dry sort of historical drama one more time -- or even just this dry historical review -- you will not be disappointed. In fact, some of you might just learn something they didn't teach you in school!-

Did I misread this or did Sammy call VH3 a "piece of shit"?

There are a few errors in this, which I'll just chalk up to typos for now unless this proves to be real.
