    Default video card help

I ordered Battlefield 2 and didn't realize that my video card isn't supported by the game. I'm disappointed bc I was psyched to try the game out. I have a Gateway(don't laugh) and wondered if I bought a video card that will work with Battlefield, will I have any trouble getting it to work with this fabulous Gateway pc? I think the video card that's already in the pc is built into the board. Here are the video cards that will work with Battlefield.
    Radeon X700 (PCIe)
    Radeon X600 (PCIe)
    GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
    GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe)
    GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition
    ATI Radeon X800 PRO
    ATI Radeon 9800 Series
    ATI Radeon 9600 Series
    ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX)
    ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series
    ATI Radeon 8500 Series
    ATI Radeon X300 Series
    NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
    NVidia GeForce 6800 GT
    NVidia GeForce 6800
    NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
    NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
    NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series

Kinda sucks that u have to have one of these to play it. Most of these cards are around $80, and a few are $200 or more.
    Thanks for the feedback!

Have you downloaded the demo? Most built in graphics are part of the Intel chipset, and they'll run most anything provided that you install the correct drivers. I'd grab the demo, and see what happens.

Before you pick out a video card, you need to find out which types your system supports. You'll have either an AGP slot, PCIe slot, or just PCI slots. Once you figure that out, you'll be able to start narrowing your choices down. Your system documentation should have that information in it.

I went with the 6800 Ultra myself to play the lastest and greatest games. You can't go wrong with that choice IMO.

If you want to go ballsy with a 6800 ultra, I would just pick this up. Around a 100.00 bucks more and quite a bit more power

But seriously if you want to get a good Video card the 6600Gt is the best bang for the buck. Around $159.00

Actually this one looks better it has a faster clock speed. All by the way these are the AGP models, they do have the PCI express if you need that flavor.

Check to see if you have agp or pci slots on your pc.
Also make sure your power supply can handle an upgrade in videocards. Alot of the newer cards require a 250w+ power supply to run the cards. If you have an integrated videocard i have my doubts about your power supply.
