Default The Three Must Have Albums of the Early 80s

Just had a long debate over the phone with a realtor, a fellow VH fan, wherein we were discussing which hard rock album we always saw the most, in others' LP collections or cassette racks, what albums were played most frequently / owned by nearly everybody within our mutual groups of friends.

What became apparent was, we couldn't swing a dead cat back then (1980-1985), without hitting Back in Black, Moving Pictures, and 1984.

Honorable Mentions: Pyromania, The Wall, Toto IV.

Dude, I just downloaded BIB today - Have it on vinyl, but never got
the CD - just had to hear Shoot to Thrill, Have a Drink, etc. etc.

Classics one and all. Here's to syncronicity...
or even Syncronicity, for that matter.

i don't know if you're intentionally fudging it but the wall did in fact come out in 79

Nah, didn't mean albums that necessarily had come out in the early 80s, but rather, what albums were apparently essential to LIVING in the early 80s.

    Synchronicity, indeed.

Oh, pardon, Thriller was just a GIVEN, oh great and powerful mod of ours. In all seriousness. 'Course, you didn't really have to own Thriller...because almost every friggin' song was playing on the radio, in every department store, at any public function, or restaurant or whathaveyou 24-7 for three years straight.

    Just three?

Ok, then I'd have to go with

Shout At The Devil (crankin "Looks that Kill" on my old shitty Radio Shack tape player ahh the memories )

    Back In Black

    Blizzard of Ozz

of course 1984 and Pyromania were right up there as well as Piece of Mind and Powerslave from Maiden (cheap way to slip a few more in )

I was more of a metalhead back then....

    Dude...radical.

leather wristband? bonus points if studded.
buttons on said denim cutoff vest? bonus points for a Rolling Stones tongue.
converse hightops or Vans? bonus points if Converses were a color other than red.

And surely a fan of Piece of Mind had black leather boots with chains hangin' outta the cuffs.

Don't forget REO Speedwagon's Hi Infidelity and Journey's Escape...I think I was the only one I knew who did not have a copy of either (man, radio played the shit out of these 2 albums). Women and Children First was a big album in the area I was living in...all i remember about 1980 was WACF and Back in Black.

I have jeans with patches on them--including Stones tongue, VH, KISS, AC/DC......

-MikeL, showing off that sharp wit of his.

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

"You know what's weird to me is Christians who are against the death penalty. After all, if it weren't for the death penalty, we wouldn't celebrate Easter!"

You were a class unto yourself.

Being the Crue-head that you are, though, I daresay no eyeshadow or hairspray ever graced your appearance.

    Or did it?
