Whatevs. These are the kind of pretentious pricks that use word's like
"important" to describe these kinds of records. And they throw in the
Public Enemy and NWA nods to show everyone how evolved they are.
They may as well call this ever-so-predictable list "Top 10 Critical Blowjobs"
or "Overhyped Crap That Makes Us Seem Cool and In The Know When We
    Actually Couldn't Be More Ridiculous".

Hey, I like some of these albums, but I can't think of any record
I would ever deem "important", and enough with the Nirvana and Pixies
stroking, it's tired. They were just average rock bands that made a few good
    songs. Nothing more. "Whatever, nevermind..."

Whoever made that list doesn't like the same music as me, that is for sure. I don't like any of the albums listed.
Right Now you're reading my post!

I don't see how Radiohead made it on there. Sorry, but I just think they aren't as good as people really say they are. Their music's kinda bland.
So you broke down, trying to leave town, I broke down crying on your return. You left me feeling hopeful, I'll never see your face again. You made for a bad lover's liver. You stole all the covers and busted my head. You made me such an asshole, I wish we'd never met. I'm tired of being bored. I'm through with the headaches. Hiding my hands that tremble like earthquakes. Under the table, under the daytime sky, Good Fucking Bye- Good Fucking Bye, Alkaline Trio

Not a single rock and roll record on that list! Who in the hell runs Spin these days anyway? Is it still Bob Guccioni's kid? A couple of those records however, are landmark albums. Not that I own them, but the Public Enemy record and Nevermind do mark a point of change in their respective genres and definitely influenced alot of bands that came after them. But come on, PJ Harvey, the Smiths, De La Soul, utter crap!

It SHOULD read something like this.

    1. "Purple Rain" Prince (a truly great album from start to finish)
    2. "Joshua Tree" U2 (enough said, the band at their best)
    3. "Appetite for Destruction" Guns-n-Roses (groundbreaking)
    4. "Invisible Touch" Genesis (top notch)
    5. "Balance" Van Halen (highly underrated album)
    6. "Brothers in Arms" Dire Straights (another top notch)
    7. "Metallica (Black Album)" Metallica (their last good one)
    8. "No More Tears" Ozzy (Ozzy's resurgence begins)
    9. "Dirt" Alice & Chains ( a great album, the truly best band from the Seattle takeover)
    10. "So" Peter Gabriel (just a damn good album)

What kind of crack is Spin smoking to make a list like that?
