They are nice guitars. Feel great and sound great. But the $3100 + price tag is not worth it at all. First of all, are you buying it because it's an EVH? If so, and your collecting it only, well who knows. But if your buying it to play, save your cash.
One noticeable difference between Judas Priest and Metallica...
...Judas Priest only has one gay guy in the band.

the price just strikes me as ridiculous....i've seen some replicas here on the forum made by members that look just as good.

and wasn't the whole beauty of eddie's striped guitars the fact that they were inexpensively made?

You can build one for a FRACTION of the cost that will probably be cooler, and better suited for what you want...

As always, get onto warmoth and start pricing it out. You'll see. I personally feel that its wrong tha Eddie allowed Charvel to let them do his infamous paint schemes on the guitars....maybe a SMALL amount shoulda been done? I just can't believe these are selling very well, and eventually will have closeout prices to which they will then sell well. -Red43j
Eddie must think I'm a BOZO to want to drop THAT much on one of his new Charvel Guitars!

Additionally, you can have someone knowledgeable build one FOR YOU, and it will have been crafted with more T.L.C. than the one you'll get from Charvel.

.....and I'm no Charvel hater. At $1100 with a more realistic paint job and a Seymour Duncan '78 pickup, I'd buy it from Charvel, no question.

The L&M here in Ottawa has a couple as well. No red/back/white yet, though.

You can easily build an excellent replica from Warmoth for about $1100...and have money left over for the space tape.

You can choose quality parts and features you want. Wood, pickups, hardware etc. Want a mahogany Strat body with a Floyd, scalloped maple neck and only one humbucker...routed at an angle? With or without a pickguard? You could with Warmoth parts. You can design anything you want.

Sure you could use a $150 Squire, but you would have a $150 pile of shite...IMO
