    Default Gary Cherone

I know im pleasing MANY Cherone fans here, but what do you think Van Halen would be like if Gary had stayed on board? I was recently listening to some classic Extreme, and it sounded pretty solid. It seemed like the band(VH) was pretty comfortable with his vocal style and everything like that. Now im not a huge Cherone fan, Im probably the bigger hagar fan than the other two singers(I did start the Bring Dave Back thread, but i think since sammy toured last year, finish the band with one last tour with the guy who got them to popularity. I still am the bigger hagar fan with nothing against Roth, just telling some of those who posted in that thread). BUT, even though III had its ups and downs(mostly downs from my standpoint), would Van Cherone be a better band after 1 or 2 more albums? Tell me what you think(my lead singers ranking-Hagar, then Roth, then Cherone)

I didn't like VH III, but I was curious to see what a second album would have been like with a better producer. Especially since it had been reported that they were working on that album at the time of Cherone's departure. I guess things happen for a reason.

listened to 3 again this past week and the production kills everything on the album....i'd rather crank black sabbath's born again. had the band chosen a good, solid rock producer, the album would have went platinum....there's some great playing on there, but it sounds like poo poo ka ka.

The next album w/ Cherone would of been killer! VH's biggest mistake was bowing to the pressure from Warner Bros. and other industry outlets by parting ways with Gary.
