    Default Mini-Hagar Interview This Morning...

....on KFOX 98.5 in San Jose. This is what was apparently mentioned:

    -The Concord show
-He talked about him, Kari and the girls moving to Cabo for a year
    -Doing a tour next summer
-Talked about the band, and Montrose
-Greg Khin (the DJ) was asking him about that show "Hit Me Baby One More Time..Greg's gonna be on it..and Sammy just laughed
-Mentioned the REDHEADS, and the fact that if a girl in the FRONT row lifts her shirt, he still gets HARD

All the above info is courtesy of what was posted at the SHML. The person who posted the info didn't get into specifics about anything that was discussed, especially the "touring next summer" part.
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

    -George Carlin 1937 - 2008

    Thanks for the info.

I'm guessing the tour will be with the Wabos and not VH.

Remember though that Sammy considers what he is doing this summer be "a tour" when its really only a handful of shows. Sam plans on playing next summer, if not with VH then with the Wabos. From his ints, Sam sounds liek he has left the VH door open, but its up to Ed/Al to make the first move and it appears as if the question is whether Ed is healthy enough to do so.

Well, I failed to lift mine during the VH tour last year, but now that I know Sammy will truly appreciate it...guess I'll have to hit a Wabos concert next year. <big grin>

-Greg Khin (the DJ) was asking him about that show "Hit Me Baby One More Time..Greg's gonna be on it..and Sammy just laughed
I'll have to catch that. Our Love's in Jeopardy -- great song (not QUITE as good as Weird Al's parody -- one of his best evah!). I wonder what current song Greg will sing.

I'm surprised Dave isn't going to be on HMBOMT! [ducks flying tomatoes]

While watching last week, I said to my wife that I have this fear Dave will be on this show.
I don't think he can be on it, legally. Dave is famous for being the "lead singer of Van Halen" and not his solo career and I have doubts Ed & company would authorize the use of the name "van halen" plus they would want Dave to sing Jump and they need the songwriter's permission (Dave only co-wrote it) to perform the song.

Well, he did have that brief solo career. He could do "Just A Gigolo"! <G>

Not to rip on Sammy...but talking about a summer tour with Wabos and getting hard if a girl lifts her top in the front row...sounds light years away from making AMAZING music with Eddie.

Yep, it's the same as it ever was.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Dave doesn't need permission. Anybody is free to license and perform Jump. They would only need VH's permission to use the original recording of the song. If Dave need permission to do it himself, he wouldn't be able to perform any VH in his shows. For that matter VH would need Dave's permission to perform any CVH without him. Fortunately, they don't need each other's permisiion.

That being said, after watching that band Trainwreck, I mean Loverboy, I pray that Dave or Sam or anybody else associated with the group, has to stoop that low.

Why doesn't he talk about his plans with Van Halen? He just did a tour with them last year, and he wrote It's About Time. A song about how Van Halen is back.

I'm sure he wants to be as vague as possible. There probably isn't anything concrete to talk about, so why raise false hopes? At the same time he doesn't want to entirely close the door either. Sammy's a smart politician.

Either that or the song was always intended to reference last year's tour and that's it :

I understand the idea of keeping one's options open, but would it really hurt to at least address the issue by saying,

"I'm not sure what is going on with Van Halen at the moment, but I am hopeful that we will reconvene sooner rather than later"

    or

"To be honest, I don't see the VH thing happening again as things satand currently. We'll see, but I am happy with the Wabos."

Come on, at least hint at where things are (or might be heading)!
