I used to use the Super Slinky Ernie Ball strings, but I recently picked up a few packs of these: DAddario EXL110 XL Nickel Wound Guitar Strings (Regular Light). I really dig em.

I also keep seeing this ad for cleartone strings in Guitar Player. They're supposed to last a long while due to the coating on them. Kinda expensive though.

I love GHS Nickel Rocker strings. I'm currently using the Eric Johnson signature set in 10-50 gauge.

I think Fender 150s are pretty decent strings, too.

    Riddick.

Word.......those strings are the shit. I've tried a lot of brands and the Super Slinky's are the best electric strings in my mind.

Having said that's my opinion.........my strong recommendation is that you try different brands and see which one you like.

Any Ernie Ball Slinkys, with my pick being the Slinky Hybrid

I used Super Slinkys for years until I tried the Hybrid. Get the bending action required on the high ends but you'll get throaty growls on the lows

Slinkys would be cool, but if you're setting it up to tune down a 1/2 step, might I suggest a 10 set of the DR Pure Blues (pure nickel). GREAT freakin' strings that last about TWICE as long as Slinkys...

+1. Unless you want your 9-42 set to feel like rubber bands when you
tune down, go with the 10-48s. At this stage, it really doesn't matter which brand of string you use. Heck, get a pack of something different every time you go to the store and try them all out.

I run EB Hybrid Slinkys on my Wolfie 9-46, tried other brands but I keep coming back to the Ernie Ball strings.

If you are going change the gauge of your strings be ready to make adjustments to your neck and re-intonate your guitar. Especially if you have a floyd rose on it!!

If you're tuning down a half step I would definitely go to .10's or .11's. Makes the tone so much thicker and keeps the string waggle to a minimum. Especially if you're dropping to C# at times you're going to need a .52 on the low E for sure.

EB Slinky's are the bomb. The only other strings I use are the Fender Bullets for my strats since they keep tune better because they're designed to fit the bridge.
