I couldn't go. I was going with JackDaniels here from the links but he bailed out and sent the tickets to me. Unfortunately I didn't get the tickets in time, but I was lucky that I didn't buy any airline tickets in advance..

Juts found this from the Melodicrock.com message board:

    Sammy Hagar And The Wabos

"Astonishing stage show, which totally went over the heads of the Swedish audience - who left in droves. He did Top Of The World, Right Now and Why Can't This Be Love from his Van Halen days and that was largely very good - although Right Now was too slow really. Of the SH stuff, it was all superbly performed but the set was way too American for the locals. I'd like to see him with a British audience."

"I'd like to see him with a British audience." - Argh don't remind me - today was the day he was supposed to play the Hammersmith Apollo!! WAH!!

That is bullshit.. I doubt there is a "too american setlist". Only reason why people didn't either like or care about his music is because he's not a well known artist around here. When has he last been in Europe? In 1995 with Van Halen? You can't neglect a part of the world for 10 years, then travel there for one show and think you can take the audience by storm..

Hey don't shoot the messenger - I just copied and pasted it from the melodicrock.com board.

I think he should have played more VH stuff as that stuff is obviously more known over there. It does really bug me how Sam usually ignores the world outside of the U.S. I was very suprised he even did the Swedish show and even more suprised when he announced the now cancelled London show.

I'm not saying you're the one with crap in your mouth Dave. I'm just saying that the text in that article is bullshit. You know?

Went to the Sweden Rock website and found the following,

"ÅRETS BESVIKELSE: Sammy "Strandraggarn" Hagar. Började bra med "Bad Motor Scooter", men sedan gick det bara utför. Seeegt och trist."

Doesn't sound too good to me.

Should have called my mom, who is from Sweden, but here's the result of an online translator tool:

"THE YEAR's DISAPPOINTMENT: Sammy “Strandraggarn” pastures. Began good with “baths engine Scooter”, but since went the only down. Seeegt and sad."

    "Suck a fat one, faggot."
-MikeL, showing off that sharp wit of his.

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

-Derrick Jensen, "What We Leave Behind"

"You know what's weird to me is Christians who are against the death penalty. After all, if it weren't for the death penalty, we wouldn't celebrate Easter!"

    -the late, great, Bill Hicks
