What amazes me is there are people still stupid enough to open these emails.

Can I borrow a few hands to help slap these people?

Seriously, why would anyone open an email today without knowing the sender???? The ONLY people who have intelligence who open these things must literally know NOTHING about computers whatsoever or the internet.

Speaking from experience, there's many 55 and older parents and grandparents who thanks to easier technology are getting online nowadays... You'd be surprised to learn how many of these people go online for the first time once they've lost a spouse... These are the people who do not fully understand the dangers of "stranger danger" emails, lack of firewalls, and clicking on "yes" for every prize they've won in a stupid pop-up advertisement...

Yep, I was online for two years without a problem. Then I added my 60 year old mother to my account. I've had to re-install my OS 4 times and lost one hard drive.

I've told her over and over to NEVER open attachments. She say's that she doesn't but then when I press her she then tells me that she "Only opened attachments from people that she knows". I then, as calmly as I can, tell her that viruses mail themselves from infected accounts, usually from their friends.

Plus, her friends are all older than she is and they're even worse.

I had to disable my firewall because my mother couldn't cope with it. It's not that she's stupid, she just doesn't understand the tecghnology.

<LOL> I had the same problem a year ago... I eventually ran all her software that would access the net, and then told her if anything ever asks to connect to the internet CLICK NO!!

OH, and I created her a YAHOO email account... no way in hell am I going to set her up an Outlook mailbox...

    so far so good...

now my 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son is another story!!

can't wait to get her wireless installed, then she can kill her own PC in her bedroom... hahaha fucking crazy... when I was 10 I would have died for an atari 2600, she has a fucking computer... sorry for the bad words... 3 Coronas in 15 minutes has that affect...

I used it as an excuse to buy an up-to-date HP. That way I don't loose my research for my book and she can used my old one to e-mail.

Be careful of Yahoo, they seem to attract their own specific viruses. My mom has a Yahoo account and that's where all the trouble came from.
