    Default Floyd Rose Problem

I have a Wolfgang Special and am having a problem with my nut....oops let me rephrase that. The nut on my Wolfgang is acting up and its related to the Floyd Rose locking screw.

On the low E and A, for whatever reason I am unable to tighten the allen screw so that the strings become locked. Therefore if I want to play it, my low E and A are unlocked thus potentially causing tuning problems.

For a time, I was able to use another allen screw that was a bit longer but now that does not work.

Any suggestions outside of replacing the whole nut? Not sure if this has happened to anybody else.

It sounds like one of two things. The allen screw or nut is stripped. Or the clamp and nut have grooves worn into them from over tightening. Best bet is to replace the whole thing. All wolfs have a 1-5/8" or "R2" nut. You can get them just about anywhere for around $25. And next time don't Magilla Gorilla those allen screws!

I will look for that replacement however when you said all Wolfgangs have it, well I have two of them and they nuts are different on them.

One is a Special made in the USA and the other is a QT which is made I think in Korea.

The one in the USA is the one giving me the problems so I imagine that the R2 is good for that one.

    if not let me know.

Yup!The R2 is good for the special or any other US model. But you're right, the hardware on the Korean model is different than the US models. Good Luck.
