    Default Acoustic Set Lists

Hey, anyone out there playing any gigs? What does your setlist look like? I'm getting ready to put an acoustic setlist together and I'm looking for new ideas.

I just hit an open mic night at some college coffeeshop and got roped into playing a short set later. Here's what I played:

    Open Mic
Just Like Heaven - The Cure

    Set
I Melt With You - Modern English
Medley: Boulevard Of Broken Dreams/Wonderwall - Green Day/Oasis
Best Of You - Foo Fighters
I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick
Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' - Journey (done pretty fast...been doing it this way since 1987, courtesy of Bakersfield's own Examples!)
Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love - DaveEdMikeAl
It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) - R.E.M.

Nice choices dude, cept I prolly wouldn't have done the Greenday song but it's cool how you did a medley and it's not really a bad song. Also like the closing song(ITEOTWAWKI) because I used to play it alot acoustically.

I have a setlist ive done before with some friends:

    1. Wanted Dead Or Alive
    2. Big Empty
    3. About A Girl
    4. Missunderstood (Motley Cre)
    5. She Talks To Angels
    6. Only God Knows Why
    7. Slither
    8. All Apologies
    9. Hole Hearted
    10. Right Now
    11. Spanish Fly (Guitar Solo)
    12. Patience
    13. Eagles Fly
    14. Two Steps Behind
    Encore 1:
    15. Stairway To Heaven
    Encore 2:
    16. Little White Lie
    17. Mutha (Don't Wanna Go To School Today)

I think the closing song is my fav ta do. We go on for 15 minutes with that one, and everyone else digs it. Add a little electric guitar in Eagles Fly and About A Girl. Songs like Hole Hearted i replace with More Than Words and All Apologies i replace with In Bloom. Sometimes i add When The Levee Breaks if i wanna replace Stairway. Spanish Fly i go on for about 9-12 minutes with, just like an EVH solo.

Hey, BLLoons...I noticed in your signature you gave a link to the Leadbelly Foundation website. One of my old bands used to do a couple of his tunes: "St Louis Blues" and "Mary, Dontcha Weep".

If any of you don't have any Leadbelly, go out and buy something of his...ANYTHING of his.

P.S.: We also used to do "Rock Island Line". Never touched his big 'hits', though ("Cotton Fields", "Midnight Special", etc.).

I didn't know that Lead Belly sang,"St. Louis Blues." My favourite version of that tune is by Jimmy "Spoon" Witherspoon.

I've been listening to a lot of Lead Belly lately. I really dig his album with The Golden Gate Quartet singing back-up,"Take This Hammer." The only tune I've ever heard by Lead Belly that I don't really dig is his version of,"Death Letter Blues." Some of my favourites are,"Whoa Back Buck," "Stewball," "Bo' Weevil Blues," "Ain't It A Shame(To Go Fishin' On A Sunday," "When I Was A Cowboy," "I Ride An Old Paint," "Skip To My Lou," "The Grey Goose," and "The Ballad of Sam Hall."

I love the intro to Johnny Cash's version of,"Rock Island Line."

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."
