Default Watched "Live without a Net" for the first time...

Wow. My local library had a copy of the DVD. Great show. Now I know why they called it "..without a net." Sammy was insane hanging from the trusses!

These guys made it look so easy. So tight. So energetic. Those were the good old days for sure.

It's a lot better than LRHRN.. I can't stand that DVD with two nights edited into one show..

Ha, I remember starting a thread on LWAN after watching it for the first time myself. Pure energy for an hour and a half, I believe I've re-watched BOBW intro for like 5 times

It's a great show, too bad they didn't clear up the picture abit more for the DVD. The band just smokes, Ed's playing is so effortless and smooth it's scary.

Agreed. Looks like they shot it on 16mm film. Even 16mm can be cleaned up. If it was shot on 35mm, then the director and DP should be shot.

I totally agree. I never liked the way they edited that one. And, also if you compare the energy from LWAN and RHRN, actually there's no comparison. Eddie just stands in one spot the whole time on RHRN. It's not a great video at all.
I wish LWAN had a few more songs on it, like Wild Thing to name one...

Hell yeah. All 4 of them were hitting on all cylinders on that tour!

Thank God someone was smart enought to capture it on film!

It is a great concert, I think I watched it about 1000 times! I will move this topic to VH songs/albums now.

My favorite concert DVD. The whole band is just on fire, especially Eddie. His solo on "5150" is one of the best I've ever heard. I only wish I was old enough to have seen them that early.

This is one of the best but I've gotta put Balance live in Toronto PPV '95 up there with it.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, Tokyo Dome In Concert, is available for purchase, and its super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

That is a great show. Too bad it was never officially released on DVD.
