    Paul Anka Covering "Jump"...Uhhh, Oaky..

Entertainment Tonight reported that Paul Anka is doing a big band version of "Jump". He's also fucking up "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

So..there ya go, some Van Halen news...sort of.

The pisser about this is that ET just starts rolling tape of VH and I'm thinking "Shit, Van Halen news, they're talking about Dave!! Fuck!! Could it be happening?!!!"...then they show Anka in the studio.

    What a let down.

I would of been disappointed too, anticipating a classic VH reunion.

I don't know, Axx...Paul Anka is a brilliant musician and if he's going big band, it could be funky enough to be cool...

That is just sick and wrong. I can't believe that Ed allows this to happen.

    He-llllooooo Baaaaay-Beeeeee!!!!!\m/\m/!!!
Edward was recently asked by a disc jockey whether he checks out the various Van Halen message boards where hardcore fans have supported Van Halen over the past 5 years of silence. Edward's response? "No, I don't . . . because I have a life."

I have nothing against Paul Anka, I lived across the street from the guy one Summer. He's very nice and has a great voice. I'm sure he'll do a better job than Pat Boone and I like his explaination about how he's sick of doing the same old standards and wanted to try something new. He's covering a bunch of rock classics and since I haven't heard any of them I'll withhold judgement.

It was mostly just the shock.

Funny he picked a Dave-era song

I think he felt the Sammy era had too many cheesy ballads.

Seriously though, I hear Paul may also be incorporating the Jack Daniels routine into his shows.
