    Default Remember the Heros

    With Memorial Day weekend here....

    Remember the Heros:
    Sammy Hagar 1983

    Stranger in a foreign land
    Fearful cries surround him.
    Returning home a wounded man
To find he's been forgotten, yeah.
Courage is the badge he wears
    Blinded by obsession.
Wars are won by those who dare
    The memory still haunts him.
    Remember the heroes
Who fight for the right to choose.
    Remember the heroes
We've all got a lot to lose.
A rebel to the naked eye
    An undiscovered legend
Face the facts and don' t ask why.
    It's something to believe in.
    In the dark
    Day and night.
Fight for wrong to prove what's right.
    Remember the heroes
Who fight for the right to choose.
    Remember the heroes
    Just another life to use
    Remember the heroes.
We've all got alot to lose.
    -solo-
    Remember the heroes.
    Remember the heroes.
    Remember the heroes.
    Remember the heroes.
To take a life without a say
    Demanded without reason.
To turn our backs and walk away
    A faceless act of treason.
A father's son must carry on
    The wound is only deepened.
    Remember the heroes
Who fight for the right to choose.
    Remember the heroes
It's just another life to use
    Remember the heroes.
You know we've all got alot to lose.
    Remember the heroes
    Who's gonna fill their shoes?

God bless ALL, past & present, who have sacrificed sooo much for our great country and way of life. Words cannot express my gratitude...

    I'm not worthy...

Hopefully people remember what the day really is for and will give some thanks sometime throughout the day.

It's been a tradition of mine the past few years to, at silly as it sounds, to AT LEAST watch Saving Private Ryan every Memorial Day weekend...

Just my little way of making sure I put some serious thought into what all those brave souls have done for me...

Not to get away from the point of this thread, but I love this song. When is the last time anyone heard it played live, or on the radio? Whatever happened to Mike Reno, anyway?

On that song again, is that Sammy's tune or a cover? I always thought it sounded too cool for 3 Lock Box, something like he could have come with his latest records.

    WE REMEMBER ALWAYS

Here's to honor all of our veterans, past and present, who will always be remembered every day of the year for their sacrifices and bravery in preserving and protecting.

Our community has an annual Memorial Day ceremony with a wreath placement, flags on all graves of lost soldiers, and a community dinner with a reading of all veterans.

BTW - Sammy's song is definitely a keeper!!!
    RIP - Classic Van Halen

Every year I make my annual trek to the Indy 500, where tradition is the basis for the day. The best part of the whole day is about an hour or so before the race there is a parade of stars, celebrities and such. The Hulman-George family always saves the best for last, there is a convoy of about 200 troops who have served overseas. As you see these young people soaking in the atmosphere of the 400,000 people in attendance, waving and filming the event on their video cameras, all I can do is cry in joy that these young people have made the choice to sacrifice for me, and in sadness of the great and brave people who didnt make it back. It is my time of reflection to sit back and thank God above for the great country and great young people who serve this great land. To all that serve thank you, that I, as a free man, have the luxuary to visit sites like this, and voice opinions that in the rhelm of things, means absolutly nothing. Thank you all you brave and wonderful Men and Women, may we never forget you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Gods Love and Blessings
May you all return home soon and safe
