Default Classic Van Halen is better than Prozac

I did not write this but saw this on another non-VH board. This isn't ment to start a Sam Vs. Dave discussion either. I just thought it was great to to see someone re-discover how great VH really is.

"I haven't listened to VH in a while. They were once my favorite band, but then I got tired of the lead singer saga and it made me disgusted with the band. That and the fact that my carefree teen years were much more receptive to the good times of VH than my crappy 20s (although my teen years sucked to) Anyway, I've been listening to classic VH again, and I forgot how magical their music was, and how great it made me feel. Classic Van Halen really is magical. There is just something about it, something that just can't help but put a smile on your face. I like Sammy Hagar and all, but there was just something special about the music Eddie, Alex, Dave, and Mike made. Just listen to "Secrets," "Little Guitars," or "So this is Love?" and you will know what I mean. I don't mean to sound trite or trivialize depression or anything, but even if you are down-in-the-dumps, classic Van Halen should give you at least a temporary reprieve from the bitter, cold, heartless world and the egregious state of being that we call life. Long live the mighty =VH="

I agree, and don't forget Runaround, for me it dosen't really matter what era, the music just picks you up, I think it is just the magic of Ed, and lets not forget those wonderful backing vocals...there is no other band imho that compares when it comes to those great backing vocals!

Yeah, any Van Halen at anytime is good for any kind of mood.

I personally find that Van Halen, Balance and F.U.C.K. can do no wrong when you're in a bad mood or a great mood.

I posted this thought in the Dave's Fan Thread, but ... whenever I am in the car without the kids - or the husband, for that matter - I CRANK the VH, usually Fair Warning. It is such an escape for me - and my smile is a mile wide! The best is when the rearview mirror is vibrating to the beat.

"Hey, thanks for the bracelet! Was that one for me?" - Michael Anthony to me in the Golden Ring in Grand Rapids, MI July 9, 2004
July 9, 2004 - Mike pressed a guitar pick into my hand!
"We're in the right place!" EVH @ The Joe in Detroit, July 10, 2004
"Hey! What's up!?" - Mikey, upon recognizing me in the Golden Ring in Chicago after getting his second bracelet, July 21, 2004
"What is uuuuuuuuuup!!!???" - Mike to me in Detroit, May 12th, 2005, after receiving third bracelet.
"You found me again!" - Mike to me in Detroit, Nov. 2, 2007

Exactly, altho those child-free moments are few and far between for me.

The melodic sounds of VH will cure just about anything.

    It's science.

Classic VH better than Prozac? Naw, it's better than almost anything. Definitely better than Journey...
