Default The Waboritas are bad news for VH fans

Before I cut to the chase I would like to make a warning about what you are about to read. This is without a doubt my most negative thread I have ever begun on VHLinks and its not really something I am proud of, however I feel the point made is a sound one and one which surprises me how many people cannot realise.

My question is why can people not see that as long as Hagar is touring and playing round with his Waboritas Van Halen is finished???? This is a topic which is often discussed and very few seem to highlight the fact that it is actually AWFUL news that Sammy is off recording or touring with his band.

1.It means he is NOT in the studio recording with VH

2.It also means it is highly likely he is NOT speaking with Eddie (come on he doesnt get off stage and get straight on his phone to Al or Ed!)

3.Think of the message this sends to Ed.....I have MY band - its all I need...F**K you! Oh yeh I may aswell poach our Bass player too just to cause further divisions in the VH camp

4.Time is passing and Hagar (or any of them!) are not getting any younger

5.Sammy is releasing all his emotion and artisitic energy with another band (whats his motivation to do it with VH????)

I could probably think of more but I think these are enough to discuss for now. I understand that peoples counter-arguments will be about the $$$$ and the fact that Hagar is staying 'performance-ready and on top of his game' but I just dont think this holds weight. If he was 30 maybe.....but those days are gone. Maybe Sammy does need the $$$ but does Ed??

I personally believe until the Waboritas fall silent any hopes of Van Halen releasing a new album or touring again are non existant

And thats a shame because it has made me hate even hearing the name of that band....to me W-A-B-O-R-I-T-A-S spells death for the greatest rock band of all time. Cant anyone else see that????

the waboritas are lacking one important element that VH will always have...and is the main reason why i don't see sammy solo (or DLR solo)...

    that element is ED!

Sam's solo gig spelling the end of Halen? Nah. The Wabos never went away, Sam was clear about that from the get-go. They have no significant effect on whether Van Halen plays or not, of that you can be sure.

If you need to point a finger, dude, then point it at one Edwardo Van Heebie Jeebie.

I look at it as a positive that Van Hagar may finally be dead once and for all and the mighty Van Halen may be preparing for the ultimate reunion tour. Ed seems to be going retro with his endorsements and his behavior. Why not go retro with the singer for one last smash, bang, crash em up?

Ed and Dave got along a lot better when they were both single. Maybe they can get along again for a ton of money, women and a chance to play some of the best rock n roll ever one more time.

The fact that they are not 30 years old anymore is exactly why Sam can do what he wants and still, maybe, possibly do something in the future with VH. The older you get the less you give a shit about certain things, you pretty much do what you want to do and if someone doesn't like it, that's their loss.

IMO Sam said yes to the tour with VH because it seemed like they were having a good time and could continue to have a good time on tour. Now Sam can have a good time with the Wabo's and tour. If the opportunity comes up, he can say what the hell, let's give it a go again with VH. And maybe this is the problem with everyone, their at an age and time in their life that they're not willing to put themselves out to the point that they don't have a good time. We can only hope they work things out to put together new music. I mean would any of us be miserable if we didn't need money? And I doubt anyone in VH is hurting for money.

Relax. It was understood before they got together again, that he would be allowed to do his solo thing too. So what, he's playing a handful of dates. None of us know for sure what plans Eddie, Alex, Sammy or Mike have this summer or next year. how could anyone possibly know?

Eddie always said he'd have to start drinking again if Dave came back in the band. Well, that part is taken care of. If you're gonna go to the dark side, why not go full force?

I think it's inevitable that Dave will be back. Call me crazy, but at this point in the game, if I was the decision maker, I'd say either quit, go get Dave back for good, or go get a new singer and play whatever the heck you want. The band should not be compromising itself anymore. Sammy doesn't want to come back. He made it VERY clear he likes running his show than being a servant in EVH's.

At least not solo permanently. I have to disagree with the Wabos spelling the end of VH. They are nowhere near the level that VH is. VH has a legacy and the guitar wizardry of one Edward. I seriously do not see the Wabos as spelling the end of VH. Not as long as Dave is around, or Sammy for that matter. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
Having said that, the Wabos have been biding their time while Sammy toured with the bros, now it's their turn. I tend to think Sammy wants to have his cake and eat it too. But so what????? It's what he wants to do. If he can't wait around for VH to get their shit together, so be it. Guess now it's just a matter of waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting...............and, well that's about it.

The Wabos kick ass. It isn't Sam's fault that Eddie is a hermit and doesn't want to tour.

LOL, VH was gonna sit on their asses for all this time (and probably much more) whether Sam tours or not.

Why would an 11 date tour make one bit of difference?

If it wasn't the Waboritas, it'd be someone else.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

While I do think that the Wabo tour is not the ultimate end of VH heres another question for discussion......why would sam want to rejoin VH after this tour if hes having (so he says) an awesome time? We all know that the last couldnt have been a ton of fun for any in the VH camp

Well then they're sure as hell good actors/players according to this last tour. At least until the end of the tour, anyways.

Well Sammy would want to make new VH music and tour again, because it's "powerful"- his own words recently

So get the frickin Wabo (?) tour over with and get in the studio. Let's hear some of this "powerful" shit.
