    Default What if no reunion?

    Hey all,

Assuming that we never see another Halen tour with Dave/Sammy/Gary (not necessarily my preferred order, just the order they were in the band). What do we want Van Halen to do? Does anyone have any appetite for a 4th singer? If we don't see a reunion of some type I wouldn't mind the original idea in 85 of bringing in 10 different singers and seeing what Eddie can do with different guys in a Santana sort of thing. What do you all think? Remember, this is assuming we don't see Dave, Sammy or Gary back (I don't want this to be a Dave vs Sammy thing, please don't turn it into that)

Then, maybe they should go ahead and do their All-Star album.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

Wow.......Another thread on what do we want Van Halen to do.......how original.

Personally, if Sammy or Dave won't come back, then I want it to be the end of Van Halen. Let Eddie do soundtracks and Alex go marry and divorce people at an alarming rate.

I can just imagine somebody coming up with an idea. "BOOM-BOOM-BOOM"... the idea get's shot down by the opposition.

But I'm down with your list. It'd be interesting to see what would come of all those guys.

Do you notice how different Eddie plays with Dave ,Sam , Gary? Dave brings out the bluesier side and playfull side of ED, Sammy brings out the melodic side of ED, Gary brought out the the off the wall wierd side of ED which can be really good or really bad. So just think what could happen with all these different styles of singers and writers! It would be a pot of gold for Eddie!!

Retire. I'm not waiting for best of now volume 23 for the rest of my life. Leave on a semi good note at least.

I've been tossing this idea around for awhile...

Do a greatest hits record with songs from the Dave and Sammy era...none of the deep cuts, just the hits...add on a few new tunes, and call it "the best of both worlds"...follow it up with a mildly successful summer tour?

Eddie solo album. Alex can be on it, too.

Instructions on how to release it:

Pick up any random audio tape at the 5150 studio with Eddie "just fucking around and doing wierd shit".

    Put it on a CD.

Replicate about 500,000 of them. Just enough for the hardcore.

Title it "Eddie Just Fucking Around And Doing Wierd Shit" written on the disc with a sharpie, packaged in a plain plastic case.

Sell it for 10 bucks on their website.

This should be minimal effort Eddie and us.
