Default Well this just fucking tears it folks!!!!!!

First, Sammy say he's "done with Van Halen".

Then Mikey comments about EVH needing to sober up.

Now, EVH comments that he's done with Sammy and/or VH as a band (depending on how you interpret that miniscule paragraph in Rolling Stone).

This just fucking seals the deal folks, here is the harsh reality....

Eddie and Alex need to get DLR and Mikey and do one more tour so the band can finish off what they started together all those years ago. Cash in, let the bands legacy rest on one final kick ass tour from the original Van Halen (and maybe some new tunes while they are at it).

Then Ed and Al can move on a work with whomever they like without calling it "Van Halen". We as fans probably won't accept any version of "VH" (the band) without Mikey anyway and why tarnish the legacy of one of the world's greatest bands like Sabbath did and like Kiss did?

Sometimes being a Van Halen fan is like trying to nail jello to a tree .

    Jello, that's funny.
    Well what's left now???
One great bit of news after another, today has not been a good day in the land of VH.

It's frustrating and sad. If Ed is of a mind to move beyond Van Halen or whatever why didn't he and Alex join Mike Sam and Dave in summer 2002--that would have been huge and a fitting end to VH if that's what Ed insists upon. There's been more than enough threads re: what Ed and/or VH owes us, which I'll concede is probably nothing, but it would be nice to have some "closure." If you've "signed-off" with Sammy, then do the same with Dave. It's really a shame.
"With me in the band, it's one of those miraculous 97-97 deals. It's 97 percent you and 97 percent moi. Is it Mick or Keith? I don't know" -DLR

"We eventually started playing clubs, and we also did weddings. We played everything from the Ohio Players to K.C. & the Sunshine Band. You would love the sight of Van Halen doing 'Get Down Tonight'! But by the third set when everybody was good and tanked up--boy, we'd be blazin'!" -Michael Anthony

It's ironic. Remember when Brad would tell us "No News is Good News"? I guess it really was. This just sucks all the way around.

Right now, everyone most recently associated with VH are assholes. These guys could really have taken lessons on how to handle themselves as a band from Bon Jovi. I'm sure those guys have arguements and disputes but they certainly never let it out of the inner circle of the band. They don't air any of their shit publicly, they handle it "in house".

Didn't you see in the Rolling Stone thread about Eddie's comments that gonzochunga got it wrong--Eddie never said "I'm done with that." It was the Rolling Stone writer repeating what SAMMY said.
    "Suck a fat one, faggot."
-MikeL, showing off that sharp wit of his.

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

You know I'm at a point were i'm just wondering what the problem is here..Journey has a new freakin record coming out, Velvet Revolver is working on it's follow up...HOW?
These guys can manage to release an album...these guys are glorified drug addicts. Yet VH can not get its shit together.
I mean wtf can eddie be that pissed off about in regards to sammy? If 8 years of silence couldn't make em happy to see each other what would. I mean eddie acted so mysterious on tour who knows what he thinks. One minute he is crying, next hugging on sam, then his apparent meltdown...If anyone wants to try and work with this guy, that sounds like a fool to me.

How many times did we hear that VH was done before last summer? I lost track of the numbers of times. If VH is done, then I am glad I went to their last tour together. Don't believe anything anyone says.

The topic of this thread could have easily fit into the other 23 threads discussing the demise of Van Halen....I'm closing this up to clean up the main a bit. Feel free to copy and paste into existing threads.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett
