    ~* !!!! AMAZING STORIES !!!! *~

Aafter watching a few Storytellers shows on VH1, I began to drift away in thought about Van Halen doing a Storytellers show. I was think'n 'bout how Dave captivated every ear durring a show at Turning Stone Casino in NY a few years ago. About 3/4 the way into the show he began to ramble on about a moment in Van Halen when they were just begining at a show in Los Angeles like at Gazaries or the Whiskey. He began his story and like no other Van Halen/Roth/Hagar (or any other band) concert, the place came to an instant halt and silence about the place. I have been to many concerts across this country and not one has ever changed direction as to where every person became so attenive to every word being said. It was simply amazing how inquisitive everybody was- you could actually feel the moment as Dave verbally and epathically took you there. You could see every person in the place hungry for every detail- some tale of Van Halen never heard before. Even Dave kinda got lost in the moment and ended it by say'n something like- I have no idea where this is goin and then led back into the music. I have heard Daves' mp3 reading of his book years ago- this li'l moment was so much more alive. This makes visible how a Storytellers segment with Van Halen would be something special. How would you like to see something like Storytellers with Van Halen- an instrumental, a three hour tour- three segments, three storys (10 yrs Dave,10 years Sam, Gary/04 tour), each segment with the 4 band members at that time, just Ed and Dave- then Ed and Sam- then Ed and Gary- then just Ed. (wooooaah.... right now an ice cream truck is passn by playn a tune)

How would you imagine Storytellers with Van Halen....

If you let either Dave or Sammy in front of a microphone to tell stories, you would never, ever, in a million years, get to the music.

I think those of us on both sides of the Sam/Dave debate can agree on that!

    Wow.
That may be true (or not), but I'd give ol' Dave a listen. I'm sure he has a few interesting tales to tell as only Dave can tell 'em. Interesting topic.

FUCK storytellers. I would much rather see Van Halen on "Bands Reunited" where they get ed, al, mike, sam, dave, AND gary together to talk honestly(yeah right) about what happened verbatim in each era. how dave leaving happened, how sam's firing/quitting happened, and how gary's departure went down. A full-on, no holds barred let it all fucking out-in-the-open forum where the members and former members can air out their dirty laundry and let their loyal fans know what the fuck went down for real. Then, I'd like to see them perform at least 4 songs each from each era and blow the roof off the fucking place.

Dave is a great storyteller and Sam is not to bad either. I think it would be neat to see but with the current status of VH, it ain't happening anytime soon.
