    Default Choosing a text editor

What do you guys that write HTML/XHTML code use as a text editor?

A plain text editor such as notepad?
An enchanced text editor like HomeSite/HTML Kit?
    Or WYSIWYG like Dreamweaver?

    Thanks.

It's an editor on Unix and Linux that's been around forever. Hard to use at first, but very powerful once you learn the commands. There is probably a Mac version of Vim on the 'net somewhere...

Damn, I think I used to used "vi" way back in my xenix days. Those skills could still be useful? How 'bout my bbx skills?

I've used UltraEdit for about 5 years now, and it rocks! It's very light and flexible. About the only time I don't use it is if I'm doing .NET stuff, for which I'll use Visual Studio.

I've tried Dreamweaver, and it's good, but I NEVER would create anything using the design mode. I HAVE to see the code for everything.

GoLive is big, bloated, and has more bugs than the Temple of Doom. It's hard to believe that Adobe put out this piece of crap (and continue to ignore making fixes to it year after year). At work I'm stuck using it half the time , and I've dubbed it GoCrash.

Yes, I seem to remember you mentioning UltraEdit before Scott. I'll have to look into it.

    Thanks.
