Default Besides CVH and Led Zep?

Can you think of any other band that never made a bad album?

Well I don't exactly think Diver Down lights the world on fire, and Presence is pretty bad...but Van Halen (all of it) and Zeppelin are for me probably the two bands with the highest percectage of great albums.

It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. Hmmmm..... "Achilles Last Stand" & "Nobody's Fault But Mine" makes "Presence" worth it for me.....
And as for Diver Down, no matter what Ed says about his own damned record----oooops----I mean Dave's record......I still like it!

I think DD is a great album.

My question revolves around CVH and Led Zep albums. CVH was 6 for 6.

DD has some great tunes for sure, and not a bad one on there--but it's a letdown compared with those before and after it.

In regards to Presence--I also like NFBM and Achilles, and Tea For One is okay--but there's just too many damn crap songs, IMO.

The Police. From Outlandos to Synchronicity, all five albums are monuments of talent. And no, I'm not counting Sting solo albums.

This topic isn't just about Van Halen. So I will move it to Music Only.

First of all, Van Hagar, FANATIC . Sam can be flamed as much as he is, but music-wise those 4 albums are great.

Other than that - neither in my book (except the one I better not name ). I can't name Queen because they went down after The Races, I can't name Floyd because I just don't dig The Wall (on the level of Dark Side), Deep Purple had their low moments even with Blackmore in, Ozzy had a Jake Lee period (IMO), Skid Row released Subhuman Race and so on.

I like all the Extreme albums, their last one was the worst, but it still has some great songs on it.

Yeah I pretty much agree there, although OU812 borders on badness, IMO.

Whoa whoa whoa, of all Floyd's albums (i.e. Piper at the Gates, Saucerful, More...), you name THE WALL as the album that eliminates them from an all-great-albums club?? That's so weird!

    Van Hagar

Since we are splitting bands by preference of eras, the first six Aerosmith are rock solid.

IMO it's overrated because of the political air around it. If it was titled something like "The Marble Shade Of Infinity" and wasn't about Beriln it would be just an ordinary record

Sorry, don't dig Presence and I never was much of a fan of side one of Physical Graffiti, either.

I agree that the original 6 Van Halen albums are all classics. Also agree with the Police
U2 has never put out a bad record. Neither have the Eagles. Can't go wrong with any Lynyrd Skynyrd albums made while Ronnie Van Zant was alive, either.

Not splitting hairs. It's the subject I wanted to broach.

Start a "Van Hagar's 4 albums were great" thread if you wish.
