    Default Logo/Banner creation software

I'm going to get back working on my website. What software do you guys and gals suggest I look into for logo and/or banner creation.

    Thanks.

I always use my Photoshop for everything, but I'm not the one to ask about quality logo advices (unfortunately). We should wait for LowLife or Greenpaw to see this thread I suppose

Adobe Illustrator seems to be the main logo creation tool, at least from my experience.

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

    As usual, you're wrong......

Never made any logos, so I have no clue.

I'm sure Photoshop would work. Never used Adobe Illustrator, so I don't know a thing about it.

It really depends on how extenstively you wish to get into logo creation and what it's used for. High-end print stuff would be best done with Illustrator or Freehand. Photoshop is excellent, too -- it's what I use for everything, which is mostly web-based stuff. Paint Shop Pro ain't bad, and it's relatively cheap, but I don't know any pros that use it.

I generally go by this. Photoshop for web, Illustrator for print. The beauty of Illustrator is that any logo or image you create in Illustrator, can be shrunk or blown up tp any scale, and still not lose any quality. Plus file sizes will be much smaller. Google "raster vs. vector" and see what you get. Each has their advantages depending on what you want to accomplish. They can both be used for web, and for print.

BTW, the avatar that Scott uses was one I made in Illustrator.

So you're just a free-lance artist ? I thought "The Lord Of The Strings" must have taken some previous experience
