    Default "I want carjackers dead"

The Nuge, "To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want 'em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot 'em."

Well, in the old days they'd hang a man for stealing a horse - taking away a man's livelihood. How is a car any different today?

Read that this morning as well. As much as I like Ted's music, I'm not sure I care for all of his views. ILLEGAL guns are a huge problem where I come from, and I wish he and his NRA members would take a stance on trying to get those guns off the streets.

I don't see it happening...much the same way I don't see drugs disappearing.
The American way is to waste money on a problem, creating much heat and very little light.

Frankly, I gave up years ago...I got robbed and kidnapped during a routine parts delivery, the weapon of choice used to instigate this wonderful experiance: purchased in a local park for $19.

My wife, my cat and I live in an insular little world...this is extended to my daughter and grandchild. I'm simply too afraid to venture into possible places or situations that may bring conflict. So, no out of area shows or concerts.

Yet I'm keenly aware that this little world could crumble in an instant.
We try to be careful, and avoid the obvious.

But the danger is indeed out there. Which makes Ted's statements sound great...and horribly naive.

And maybe I should read the article in less haste, a second time.

"No one is allowed at our barbecues unless they are an NRA member. Do that in your life." ~Ted Nugent.

So... Let me get this straight. If you are an NRA member and you decide to have a BBQ and invite some friends and neighbours over, they have to show their NRA card at the gate to get in? "Do that in your life." You are putting together a 4some for the golf course and one of your buddies wants to bring a friend and you tell him to check if he is an NRA member?

Maybe it would be easier for Ted and anyone else who wants to live their life like this to find a way to differentiate themselves so it is easy to determine who they can and cannot associate with. Maybe something along the line of a clothing item. White hood and robe are already taken so they will have to come up with something different.

Sorry Ted. This is ASININE !!!

I dunno, brother...the thing is it seems like false thinking, and "Rah-rahism" told to a select crowd to garner cheers.
It simply reminds me of the old line about "preaching to the choir", ya know?

And the thing about clubs has always been not to include, yet to exclude .

Groucho Marx once said "I'd belong to no group that would have me as a member".

Ted's lines do sound a tad exclusionary...yet I bet every one of those in attendance gave him a hearty round of applause.

Glad I wasn't there. Talk is horseshit...gimme some action, for instance Ted: why not go into the streets with a crossbow or hunting rifle, and actually take out a few carjackers or rapists?

Because it's against the law, you grandstanding shit-head! Yet your speech is protected by those that serve, as you (nor I) never did.

How is Ted Nugent (in this case) any different than Alec Baldwin, or Madonna for that matter?

    Yecch...celebrities.

Ted's like Charles Barkley. He can say whatever he wants and get away with it.

I have no problems with it.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
