Default "Peavey, You're Fired" is kinda dumb.

Is it just me, or does the headline on the homepage smack of a little blind hero worship?

As ready as Ed was to jump to Charvel, I'm sure Hartley Peavey was just as ready to terminate his relationship with an artist who rarely recorded or performed in the last ten years and showed up late and drunk on the rare occasions he was required to make an endorsement appearance.

Peavey and Ed had a good run together, but I doubt the Wolfgangs were leaping off the shelves the last year or two, at least not like they were in the beginning. If anything, the headline should say, "Screw you Peavey. Loyalty's Not My Strong Suit. Ask Sammy, Dave and Gary." LOL
“Bring on a brand new Renaissance...cos I think I'm ready."

I can't even count how many times I said that in every "EVH and Peavey Split" thread on these boards.

    Totally Agree.

You guys crack me up. I made up that headline. I was trying to be funny...I guess I failed. Hero worship, hardly. If you don't like it get over it. Eddie did more for the Peavey name than any other artist they've ever had.

Agreed, in the early 90's which the 5150, Peavey got a big dose of popularity, but in the last 7 years with Ed hding out not promoting his product, and the Wolfgang wasn't anything to make a big deal about. It was more like "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out Ed!!!!" instead of "Peavey you're fired!!"

    No shit...

I do have to say to be somewhat serious for a moment:

I will support Peavey even without Ed because they have treated me right over the years and I have never had any major problems with any of the equipment I have purchased from them. In fact, I have played other guitars and amps over the years, but the only ones I have ever owned have been Peavey. (Doesn't that sound like a corporate soundbite?)

I thank God for the combination of Wolfgangs + Ebay. I've played and owned many guitars and the Wolfgang is definitely one of my favorites. I got both of mine on Ebay for reasonable prices. My special was around $550 and my red quilt standard was mint for $800. They're both my gigging AND recording guitars. These guitars new had a steap price in my opinion (for an affordable guitar) but used, you really can't get a better value. They have everything you could want... locking tremolo, comfortable neck, D-Tuna (really important for me), good tone and nice aesthetics.
