One week later, my sis was born! Happy 20th, Cait!! Hmm... never put the 2 together, but that is kinda weird!
So you broke down, trying to leave town, I broke down crying on your return. You left me feeling hopeful, I'll never see your face again. You made for a bad lover's liver. You stole all the covers and busted my head. You made me such an asshole, I wish we'd never met. I'm tired of being bored. I'm through with the headaches. Hiding my hands that tremble like earthquakes. Under the table, under the daytime sky, Good Fucking Bye- Good Fucking Bye, Alkaline Trio

Dave is and always will the best frontman.. Sammy is good but he couldn't hold Daves Jock Strap at that time.

I love DLR, but what a dumb fucking moron he was for quitting VH.

I'm sure Ed and Al are no picnic to be around, but he should have sucked it up instead of ending the greatest band in the world. Not to say Sam didn't do a great job, but in my opinion the band was never the same. It's like Led Zep without Plant, the Stones without Jagger, Sabbath without Ozzy. Zeppelin and the Stones would have been great with different singers, but the magic wouldn't be there. Sabbath was great with Dio, but it just wasn't the same. What a colossal dumbass.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I think DLR was sure he could outsell Van Halen as a solo artist, like Sting or Ozzy. That didn't happen.

    So true.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

I was in total shock when I heard as they were on top of the world (no pun intended) at the time, I remember my dad laughing going "now that that idiot is out of the band they might get some respect", at the time the most recent Sammy tour was the VOA, so when I saw the picture of him in that yellow jump suit or whatever the hell it was, I was like uh oh.. but things happen for a reason and it all worked out for the better.

I don't understand how anybody could have been shocked at Dave's departure . Crazy From The Heat had come out months earlier and rumors abounded about a split ! It wasn't a secret that relations within the band were not that great either !
Maybe it was just me , but I saw it coming a mile away ! I think time has made some of you forget how things actually were back then .

Now , Sam's departure in 96' was a shocker for sure , I didn't see that one coming at all !

    Default Dave Out. Sam In.

When did VH announce the Sammy was the new singing? And how did they make the announcement?

Edward was recently asked by a disc jockey whether he checks out the various Van Halen message boards where hardcore fans have supported Van Halen over the past 5 years of silence. Edward's response? "No, I don't . . . because I have a life."
