    Did Ed need the money?

Did Eddie need the money? Do any of you think that it was at least part of the motivation for this last tour. I am just thinking out loud here, but, how much did Valerie take him for? They cleaned up no doubt, and, I am not sure I care all that much if it was all for money because I would have given anything to see them live again. After thinking about it though, looking at the ticket prices, and the timing after the divorce, one would have to think it was at least partly to make some cash.

Ed should be set up for 10 lifetimes. Just look at the endorsement deals he's made since the ealy 90's, EBMM, Peavey, Charvel, plus royalities, etc etc.

Al might have some financial problems, with what, 3 ex wives.

Mikes sitting back on easy street, same wife, no addictions.

Does this make any sense?!!??!?!?! l'm tired, hehe.

Hmmm, that would give some weight to why there is now an "EVH store" and Charvels are going for so much bank. I guarantee that guitar costs no more than $300-$400 to make. Who knows. Bad thing is, the more time goes on the more apathetic I become towards Van Halen's future.

btw...riddick--nice sig. That's my favorite DT song, and that's a great lyric. John Petrucci is phenomenal.

I learned only recently that Mike owns not 1 but 2 Ferraris, not to mention his collection of hot rods. If Mike is that loaded, imagine what kind of dough Wolfie is going to inherit when Eddie is gone. I think Ed stopped needing the money a long time ago. Hell, Dave hasn't been in the band for 20 years now and those first six albums set him up for life. I bet Dave still makes good money from VH royalties and stuff. Financial problems, even for Alex, shouldn't be a concern for any of the members of VH, past or present, cept for maybe Gary.

Val might of taken alot; however, she's not exactly hurting herself. I'll bet Ed's doing just fine even after the divorce. Then again, a rock star blowing all of his money and being broke.....................uh, never.

I think we could make the argument either way:
They needed the money, so they swallowed their pride, whipped this tour up and charged outrageous prices for it.
However, they SHOULD be set for quite a while.
Sammy's doing fine, he's a good business man and he doesn't need the money. However, he did a tour with Roth and a tour with VH, kinda makes you ask "why?" For the fans? Quite possibly.
Eddie, I would think, is doing well financially. The divorce may have hurt a little, but Valerie's no financial slouch either. With all of his royalties and side deals, not to mention getting a bigger percentage of the money from VH, he didn't need the money.
Alex, well he may be in the deepest hole financially. 3 divorces will certainly lighten your wallet.
And Mikey's got his hot sauces. Plus he steals towels and soap from the hotel rooms that he stays in. So we know that he's good at stashing things away, and planning for his future!

So, in summation, I don't have a friggin' clue!!!!!!!!

Agreed Ed is beyond set, unless the guy blew it all, he is far and away the richest member of VH, past or present.....Here`s just hoping he didn`t let another "Ray Daniels" type manage his cash.

I would think that Val probably took him for quite a bit. The more I think about it, the more I think it was about money. The lack of interviews, publicity, and lets be honest a lot of fake emotion at shows and of course the fighting. I know that there were shows that they all had fun being on stage with one another. Sammy does not need the money at all, no doubt he did it for the fans. Something to remember is that these guys live an expensive lifestyle and it takes a lot of money to maintain that. If we don't hear from them again, we know what the answer is. Bottom line, if it was for money, which it certainly seems that way, shame on Van Halen. There is not a band in the world, or should I just say Eddie, that shows such disrespect for its fans.

Um, I am willing to bet Eddie is does not have the most cash, I think with the way Cabo has taken off and the constant touring, Sam has him beat.

I'm sure Ed is pretty well off. He doesn't need any money, unless he has a complete dumbass managing his cash.

Why don`t you bet Ed seeing you have money and apparently he does not.

I don't think so. As for the ticket prices, they aren't as bad as you think. Jimmy Buffet is coming to one of the casinos here in CT and top ticket price is a little over $200. That is ridiculous!!!

I doubt any of them are hurting for cash, but did they do it for the money? Yes. Every tour that they have ever did, no matter who the singer was, was done for money. How do I know? They charged for money for the tickets.

If they didn't want to make money they would have played for free.

The ticket prices were about the going rate for a show these days. Except for John Melloncamp, which I just paid $35 for, ever show I have went to lately has been $65 and up.

LOL.. I seriously doubt money was the main goal of the last tour. If it was, they would have promoted it far far more than they did.
