    Default 7 String Suggestions

Hey guys, do you have any good suggestions for 7 string guitars? I have always wanted to try a 7 string but just havent gotten around to it and Ive been looking all night for 7 string guitars and I cant find many. You would think that Ibanez would have them on their site but the only ones I can find is Vai's Universe 7 String.

Ever since I saw this guitar (http://www.daveweiner.com/dw73.html), I have become very fond of 7 strings. When I was watching Steve Vai on the crossroads festival, I noticed that Dave Weiner (vai's rythm guitarist) was playing this exact guitar and I just fell in love with it. I looked at warmoth 7 strings and they look more like smaller basses more than anything. Also, is the transition from 6 to 7 difficult or is it pretty easy?

BOISE STATE BRONCOS! - They're awesome. Deal with it!

11/16/04 - VAN HALEN in Boise, Idaho. Changed my life forever

8/8/06 - Sammy Hagar and the Wabos w/Michael Anthony in Boise, Idaho. Sam and Mike still kick ass

I think it would be way cool to mess around with a 7 string and have that low B at my disposal.

My only suggestion is to play 'em at the music store and find out which one is best for your tastes and style. I would plunk around on it enough to make sure you want to definitely purchase a 7 string ax.

Well there are as you said Ibanez, they have other 7 strings besides Vai's one, there is the EBMM Petrucci 7 string, there are other brands, but for the life of me l can't think of them, l'll try to remember hehe.

    There's Schecter.

l don't really have a problem playing 7 string. I've heard some people get the low b string mixed up with the low e. I was thinking of buying a 7 string a while ago but decided not to, because it was just gonna be a novalty for me, l'll have no use for it, 6 strings are enough for me atm.

But l'll recommend trying 7 strings out in shops, see how they feel.

    Good luck.

The Ibanez for sure--they started the trend, they have the most refined guitars for this application. Check eBay for them, I bet you could get a crazy deal on one. Ibanez made/makes the Universe series and they made some AX7 series and RG series 7-stringers too that are lower cost.
How open-minded do I have to be before my brains start spilling out?
