    Default @*#!ing "Romantic" Comedies

Do you Link ladies really like these things? I'm beginning to think we'd never have Julia Roberts or Drew Barrymore if these things somehow just went away.
Yeeegh...the commercials for these things are all the same.

Some of them are good and I happen to love anything Drew does. But for me the mushy crap just doesn't cut it. Most "romantic comedies" end up being kind of cheesy. I say go straight for the porn if you want to see a love story!

The only thing worse then a Drew Barrymore movie is a movie with Drew Barrymore AND Adam Sandler.

Why is it all of a sudden a requirement that if one's in a movie the other one has to be?

Romantic Comedies. Boooo. Every 6 months or so i'll sit through one with the wife. With plenty of beer.

You mean Old School ain't a romantic comedy? It's got boobies in it, doesn't that make it romantic?

IMO, there's A LOT of cheese out there as far as romantic comedies go. I do love a good romantic love story, though, and usually like the ones with sad endings (Message in a Bottle, The Notebook, and Somewhere in Time come to mind). If you guys haven't noticed, most girls are definitely "in the mood" after sitting through a romantic movie...why not take advantage??? Try this...snuggle up to her with a good drink. You don't even have to pay attention to the movie (if she asks you a question about it after it's over, just answer with "I knew they'd find their way back to one another eventually" b/c that will work for just about ANY romantic comedy---HA ) and then spend the next two hours spacing out and conjuring up what you're going to do to her once the movie is over and she's ready for action. Romantic movies will do to most women what porn does for men (or T.P.).

On our FIRST date I took my wife to see City of Angels and acted as if I were interested. Since then...guess how many 'chickflicks' we have been to....absolutely ZERO.

Unless the beginning of the movie says this is a Bruckheimer, Tarentino, Michaelk Bay, M.Night shimaley-a-ding dong or even Wes Craven production..I ain't goin'!!
