Okay, Alex said during the last tour they'd probably due a live concert DVD, and what about the remasters of the Sammy albums!? Godamnit, I just bought Long Road To Cabo and now I want the 2004 DVD even more! what gives!

I don't that there is going to be any tour DVD. In an interview with one of them, they said that they didn't even start thinking about doing a DVD until it was almost too late. Plus, in the 4 or 5 DVDs I have from the tour Ed's playing is nowhere near where it was on previous tours. I'm pretty sure that there is no way they would release a tour show that made Ed look bad, or at least not as good as in the past.

BOISE STATE BRONCOS! - They're awesome. Deal with it!

11/16/04 - VAN HALEN in Boise, Idaho. Changed my life forever

8/8/06 - Sammy Hagar and the Wabos w/Michael Anthony in Boise, Idaho. Sam and Mike still kick ass

He wasn't that bad, but IMO he was nowhere near typical EVH standards. His playing was just all over the place at most of the shows I went to. I felt like he should have played much better than he did. As I said before, his playing was nowhere near as good as it was on LWAN or RHRN.

I thought they came right out and said that there would not be a tour DVD in one of the press interviews at the end of the tour. Anybody else remember this?
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

I think I just recall Al saying in an interview that they didn't even give it any thought until it was pretty much too late.

To me releasing a dvd of the tour seems like a no brainer. Band tours for the first time in almost a decade with Sam and for the most part the majority of the fans were satisfied with the quality of performance during the tour. Surely out of the 80+ gigs they played there was one performance worthy of being put on DVD. I for one would nominate the Toronto show in front of a packed house as one of them. If this wasn't something the band was thinking about prior to the start of the tour I have no idea why not. For a band that prides it self on live performances to have only 2 offical DVD's on the shelf is a big ass shame.

3 if ya count the best of DVD with all of the bands videos. I think they are waiting to release the DVD in the future in case they run out of money. Seems logical to me.

The real shame is that they have released no live recordings from the Dave era, when they made their reputation based upon their live shows. I own boots in which Dave sounds great, so they can't use that excuse, it doesn't fly.

When you plan to release a live video, you plan ahead (set up camera/layout with the venue, etc...) and select a show or two to film, edit it and release it. Its not just a matter of releasing whatever show was "good". And, no, you can't film every show for potential commercial release; its just way too expensive.

If you ever go to a show that is filmed, you'd know it. First off, there are alot additional cameras (in addition to the few for the jumbotron footage), there are additional lights so there is never any "dark" spots and (a little less obvious) a soundboard is set up to record the audio from the show. From the reviews of the tour, it appears as if they never filmed a show for release.

Although not official releases, the Tokyo 89 & Toronto 95 shows were filmed for and shown on TV (as well as edited by the band) so they are as close to official as possible.

    Enjoy the bootlegs!!

Tokyo 89? I'd like to have that one. Come to think of it, there is no reason that and the 95' Toronto show shouldn't be on DVD by now. another pipe dream in the sewers to nowhere that has become Van Halen
