Just curious if anyone has been able to get the Vintage VH sound through the Bogner amps?

I've got a Bogner Uberschall and UberCabinet. They can get as mean as you can stand, and still offer more if you choose. Very clear and articulate. Some complain about the clean channel or lack of one, but I get very good results with both channels. The Ectascy is an extremely versitale amp as well. Good vintage, classic, and metal tones can be found in the amp. The Uberschall sounds better thru the Ubercabinet than other cabinets.

I've been very pleased with my Bogners.

The 2 times that I ever heard a Bogner, both Ecstacy (SP?) I think, they sounded like crap. My DSL was blowing it away.

I do realize however that it was due to the guy having no clue how to set the thing, it was all midrangy and mushy sounding, the other instace was the amp was outside and nothing sounded good out there so....

Mid's are important with Bogner, in my opinion.

Actually, mids are important with any amp. If you have no mid's everything sounds way too bassy and drowns out when you have it fully cranked. Unless your in your basement and never play out, then you have nothing to worry about.

If your DSL was blowing it away then your friend had absolutely no clue as to how to set it up or run it cause they're not even in the same park quality or soundwise.
Another important aspect is the speakers. Bogners sound best through Vintage 30's, or EV 12L's if you don't want the speakers to compress.

Bang-on bro. The smile EQ thing just sucks tone/definition and dynamics. Guys tend to forget that a band has a bass player for a reason.

That is very correct homeunit. I did the smile EQ thingy for a while because it sounded cool in my practice room. Then I played a gig like that and a really cool guitar player came up to me and said I was tweaking out big time...so I changed to more mid-range and everything was great.
By the way: what price range are Bogner amps? Do they come stock with EV12L's?
    Just go for it!

The smartest thing I've heard a guitar player say in a long time.

According to Eddie & Alex, a bassplayer is someone who plays about half the tracks on an album, and is kept around as a contract/hourly employee.

Of course, I understood the *intended* meaning of your post......

Bogners are pretty pricey. A used Shiva head or combo will usually run you around 15-2000, where the XTC's can go up to about 3000-3500.
They don't come stock with EV 12L's, but I put them into amps when I don't want the amp to compress. EV's cut through the mix really well too.
Only down side is the weight. Those speakers weigh a f^#@n ton.

I have a 101b and it sounds amazing thru almost any speakers. Right now, I'm recording my band's national debut thru a greenback cab, but we're also getting some great tones from 75 watters, vintage 30s and G12H30s.

Mid are extremely important. Mine are usually set around 2:00 o'clock.

Killer sounding amp. Woody, punchy, and fat.

The guitar tones on this CD are going to be great! We're using the bogner, a 1971 100 watt marshall superlead, a 1992 2-channel Dual Recto, a 1957 Fender Deluxe, and a 1954 Fender Tweed Tremeloux.

    Tone City.

The band is Revery, and the CD will be out June 21st. See you on the road this summer!

If you like cool, rock music, check out REVERY. We've put out two albums, and an EP. We were signed back in '06 and toured the US (our single Popstar Wedding was all over the radio back then). Our latest album, Adora De Phonic is available on Itunes, Amazon, etc.

Will do bro. We're looking at a July 5th release. We're finishing up the recording now, and it'll get mixed in early May. Then it goes to Tom Baker in Hollywood for mastering.
