At least they're showing the "III" incarnation of the band.

That narrative is right off the Rolling Stone website. If you put Van Halen in their search field, it comes back with these paragraphs...not that it matters.

Let's book 'em! I guess they come with Gary...?

They've got Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC in there too...

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

I think I just answered my own question.

The index of this site lists every band in the world! This looks like nothing more than a promoter who will try and book a band for your party. A "yellow pages ' of sorts.

I mean, anti-corporate bands like, Phish, Tom Petty and The Black Crowes are listed on it!

Just a promoter promising something they can;t deliver.

Ya it's BS to be able to book VH from the Gary era. They were too big. AC/DC is even bigger (by that I mean it has a larger general fan base than VH, not that they are better) and Bruce.

I dunno, but my gut feeling tells me it's fairly easy to book Gary for a corporate party nowadays.

Hell, you could probably book him for a friggin pancake breakfast at the local Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.

Actually, as has been mentioned many times before in these halls, nearly ANY band is available for private hire....if it's not too schlocky of a gig, and most importantly....

    ....if the price is right.

I believe Halen has played a few private gigs in their time.

Exactly. It was all over the news last year that a Tyco executive paid Jimmy Buffet 1 million dollars to perform at his wife's birhtday party. If you offered any artist the right amount of money, they would probably play.

Yea, in 1981 Jeff Spicoli foiled an armed robbery of a convenient store and spent the reward money on hiring Van Halen for his private party.

If the price is right, anybody will do one. Hell, if you happen to know someone who knows someone, you can probably get any artist, whether they usually do coroporate gigs or not, anyway. My man Waylon even played one in like 2001, I think, and at the time, he was beyond "legendary." He was well and truly on country music's Mt Rushmore.

It doesn't mean the act is some lounge act past its prime. A gig is a gig.
