Yeah, I read about this guy. He seems like a nice guy, and his amps seem interesting, but I don't really dig having to buy a $1500+ amp just to hear it.
I dont' think I could ever (hopefully) buy an amp based on soundclips of it without actually hearing it first hand.

That said, tell him if he wants to loan me one for a week, I'd think about it.

    ah cool!

i've become a huge fan of the sound clips alone. as mentioned, yeah, i too would need to play one before buying it of course.

i can't find an amp i really like anyway so this would be something to buy just for the so called 'brown sound'. i'm happy to see someones managed to get it done that well out of the box - i was dissapointed to find out that the mojave required a hotplate to get the brown sound.

i'd love to hear more players sound clips, i have even burned off some of the clips to a cd to play in the car if you will believe that!

    i'm sick i know.

as a side note, brett mentioned in another post he once had a marshall that was the best sounding amp ever, and i gotta chime in to say i also played one amazing marshall combo amp about 15 years abot here at long and mcquade here in vancouver that to this day i regret not buying. the sounds was just so amazingly smooth and mushy, kinda reminds me of some of the splawn qualities.

*sigh* live and learn i guess.

i demoed one for a VH freak friend of mine last weekend...he's putting an order in...

i understand the hesitancy of buying one without hearing it in person...but these things are a VH fans dream...i played everything and spent mucho $$$ trying to find a good Vh tone...this thing delivers straight out of the box...

who knows...i may start a splawn tryout service...ha!
