    Default Peavey or Musicman?

I'm about to buy a new guitar and I'm thinking of one of EVHs models, they seems cool.
I'm searching every musicstore in Sweden but no one seems to have the "old" Ernie Ball Axis model or "new" Peavey Wolfgang in stock.
I haven't tried any of EVH guitar yet so therefore my question.
Which one do you guys recommend?

Musicman, no competition, i have both and the musicman blows the peavey away, i still love the peavey, but for me personally The musicman. I think this should be in the guitar room.......

    WRONG FORUM

    Wrong Forum.

......and the answer is "whichever makes you most happy".

As far as craftsmanship goes, it's the MusicMan, hands-down. Musical happiness, however, is something different.

Sorry, didn't see the "guitar room" earlier.
Perhaps one of the admins can move the thread.

Easy, Ernie Ball Music Man, maybe don't limit yourself to the EVH/Axis model, l have a Petrucci and it rocks, l have 2 Lukes and are fantastic, the Steve Morse is probably one of the most versitle guitars around, 4 pickups, 11 different combernations. The siloettes are cool guitars, l've heard good things about the Sub's. Theres also the albert Lee, the um Benji Madden, but thats just a siloette. But l have 2 Wolfgangs and am not impressed with them.

    Riddick.

I would also recommend the EBMM EVH or Axis, they are great guitars. I know you're looking for an EVH guitar, but like riddick said, you might like the other Music Man guitars, too. They are all of high quality.

i have a EVH EBMM, a wolfgang std. quilttop and a wolfgang usa special.
the EBMM is the better quality guitar and if i had the money, i would buy me another one. i like it more than the wolfigang.

Well, it’s really not that much that I need especially a EVH guitar.
I've been playing Stratocaster for 10 yrs and love it, won't sell it ever.
But I feel I need a complement and first time I watched RHRN-DVD I thought his guitar was really cool and looked like a nice piece.
Of course, a piece created by a mastermind got to be good..

I've gone through a lot of live stuff and I think his best sound was first half of the 90's, and his sound changed for the worse the same time he switched to Peavey.
Even in the "dallas free show -91" he had a great sound (consider the conditions) without any mastering. Compare that with the sound on "Live in Australia - VHIII tour" and the difference is obvious..
I don't know if the change of sound was because of the guitar or he did it on purpose (to get a fresh start with a new singer?) but that gave me the impression that EBMM is the one to get

I do like his sound and would very much like to have it
A EBMM connected to a 5150 (6150) would do the trick, or?
Are there any of you that got that kind of setup and like to share your experiences?

he also played marshalls during the EBMM periode.
donīt belive you get his tone by using a EBMM and a 5150 head.
    itīs more than the equipment.

Of course the man behind the machine has a major impact on the sound but I was referring to a standard rock riff.
Would the sound be similar to his or does he mix up the amp with loads of effects as well?

Another thing I notice, during the Balance tour, did he mix between EBMM and Wolfgang on the same gig?
I think I can spot both on the Toronto show 18-9-95.
All EBMM:s got four screws on the upperside and two on the lower side of the neck, right?

    I'm going nuts here..
musiciansfriend.com sells the EBMM at a price of 1361$ but they only ship within US.
    In Sweden it costs 3420$.
Next thing on my to-do list is emigrating..
