    Hidden Gems!

What songs, from bands that you have listened to for a long time, did you completely miss out on for many years and then one day stumbled upon and said to yourself "How in the heck did I miss this one, this song is awesome!"

    For me

AC/DC - Sin City, High Voltage, Dog Eat Dog, Live Wire

Led Zeppelin - Bring it on Home, That's the Way

Rush - La Villa Strangiato, The Camera Eye, Something for Nothing, Xanadu

    The Who - The Seeker

SRV - Life by the Drop, Riviera Paradise
    You can twist perceptions
    Reality won't budge

IMHO, the entire "August" CD by Eric Clapton is a hidden gem. Never gets a mention in the larger picture of his catalog.....dismissed as "too 80's"....."Eric's experiment with Phil Collins".....fuck, it's a great album. Very upbeat and original. I got the tape sent to me a long time ago by a music club just to try out. I liked it....kept it.

I'd like to hear the "Hidden Gems" in a certain recording studio out in L.A. that goes by the name, "5150". I alway have heard that there is some cool shit in that place, but guess we'll never know.

Neil Young --- Out On the Weekend
Van Halen --- House of Pain (back in '84, I never got to the end of each side of the tape)
Bonnie Raitt --- Shadow of Doubt
    Metallica --- Bleeding Me
Queensryche --- The entire "Hear in the Now Frontier" album
    Journey --- Stone In Love
Dio --- Don't Talk To Strangers
    Lynyrd Skynyrd --- Mr. Banker

Cool topic, BTW. I'm sure there's a million of these.

Kiss--Thrills in the Night. As good as any other cheesy metal song of the 80's.
