Default Dave "Snake" Sabo vs Ritchie Sambora

Ah I'm missing song vs song thing !

Now, I'm really wondering about those two guys. Both played for Bon Jovi, when Dave quit for Skidz, Ritchie joined (I think). Who is a better guitarist in your opinion?

That's tough for me. While I think Ritchie technically is much better than Dave, I can't get used to his tone, it doesn't sound like a rock guitar to me at all. The only Bon Jovi tune I really like is 'Wild is the Wind', it makes me sad to imagine what would BJ sound like had Ritchie gone with such clear and agressive guitar.

Sabo is not a good shredder, and I tend to like Scotty's (other Skid guy) solos more than his, but his tone is a hell of a tone! Very clear, very powerful, plus not repetative riffs with much of improvisation.

But still I have to go with Ritchie as an overally better guitarist.

I like Skid Row better than Bon Jovi. But Ritchie is a better guitar player imo.

    Sambora.
Altough I am not a Bon Jovi fan...I am always amazed at the hatred towards them from VH fans. Is it because Jon is an ass? Is it because he bitched when Van Halen (a far superior band with 100 X the talent) would not watch him when they opened for Bon Jovi?

Skid Row. Come on, kid. Next you'll be saying Quiet Riot is the heir apparent to the mantle of Led Zeppelin.

Adolescent Russian kids don't get to define classic rock for middle aged Americans, Connor.

But despite what Gene Simmons might think, I don't really count Slade as classic rock per se. 70s British rock has a lot more Classic Rock types than them. IMO, of course.

    Check you PM.

Your opinion on Slade makes me sad . Did you know that Noddy was qualified as a singer for Zeps?
I would really like to hear you naming any 70-ies British band which is IYO better than Slade. Bad Finger maybe ?

Where shall I begin...Led Zep, the Stones, the Who, Yes, Deep Purple, the Sex Pistols, The Clash....geez, the list goes on and on (although yes, some of these guys started in the 60s, granted). Face it, my friend...your musical tastes lean toward the eccentric, to say the least. But that's what we love about you. However, your personal attempts at redefining the genre shall be met with swift and vigorous response.
