Default Who will induct the greatest guitar player ever??

Ok...Pretty much we all hate the RARHOF, but eventually the boys are going to be there...maybe next year!!!!!! Who will be the person or persons that will have the honor of inducting sir Edward and the other boys?? I honestly can't come up with anyone except Dweizel.....I thought about Clapton...Ed's hero...but no way!! I am interested to hear your picks!!

These days its hard to say.It seems Eddie has burned alot of bridges with friends in the business over the past few years. The only one he's really close with and that has had a good frienship with since the begining is Steve Lukather. And although Luke is a great musician i don't know if he is big enough to induct VH.Maybe John Mellencamp. He's seems to like Van Halen and has jammed with eddie at least once in '97.

My guess would be Eric Clapton, not sure why you didn't think so, but I think a jam with both of them together would be awesome. Maybe Jeff Beck????? If they get along, that is. I don't know who's on who's *s* list nowadays. Steve Lukather would be great too. Gee tough choice. But would Edward even show up to accept anything from this place?????

The reason I don't think Clapton would do it is ...well, I've never heard him say a great lot about Vh...good or bad...maybe you can enlighten me. I know he is Eddie's hero but I have never even heard or read a great deal even from Ed about how Clapton has regarded him. From what I have read...Clapton almost disregarded him....saying he didn't play the bues and, well he was right, but I don't know if that is a remark made to disrespect or not!!

It would probably be some clown from left field like Rob Thomas or Eddie Vedder. It would be someone that makes no sense whatsoever. I remember when Eddie made a comment about DLR and Hagar needing to share the same stage "when VH is inducted into the Hall of Fame." Seems as though that might not happen anyway.

The only quote I've ever read from EC regarding ed is that he
(Eric) is not responsible for that style of play and doesn't really see
the connection. However, Vai said that the players who performed
at EC's blues fest last year were hand picked by the man himself
and that he was honored Clapton would have even considered him
for anything, let alone a blues festival.
So I dunno what he really thinks about EVH... If he hadn't sold his
house down the block from me, I would ask him!
Only his hairdresser knows for sure.

    Isn't the answer obvious?

    ZAKK WYLDE, baby.

Although they'd have to get the censors ready...hehe...

Then again, the way the RNRHOF is goin', 'ole Zakk will probably be 65 and inducting VH posthumously...
