I hate it. Dave is so fuckin' drunk/stoned he ruins basically every song. If you want to laugh, then get it. Ed sings better on this boot than Dave.

Sorry to be so harsh, but I really don't care for this concert.

Yeah that is what it is like. If you want to see Van Halen at their worst, this is the concert.

I would have to agree with the Dave comments, but if you want to see some total guitar shredding by the MAN then get it! Eddie is on fire and in his prime! just to see him play those old riffs when in his prime is worth it! Its a long show but Dave with him being so fucked up its actually kind of funny to hear him talk. Dont expect studio Dave!

I have both van halen and the scorpions on seperate dvds of the 83 us fest and van halen kinda sucked! It seemed that they all had a few before they went on! Ed was great on the guitar but i have seen him do better. The scorpions....kicked ass!!! Just beware of where you get your dvd, some of them are highly edited and dont have full sets.

Get the BTB 20th Annv version on 2 dvds.

Dave is drunk, but who fucking cares. Who at that show wasn't drunk? It was a fun show to watch with a good set list. Drink a few yourself before you watch, makes it even better.

If you want to see Van Halen's at their best, get the Largo, MD 1982 DVD. They are On Fire.

The US Festival is classic! Dave has the crowd in his hands throughtout the whole show. The "Ice Cream Man" track proves that Roth is the best frontman for VH as well as the best frontman in history.

    I love it!

its a great show. i've gotten people into VH by showing this show to them. after all, i love this band mostly cause of their partying, fun attitude and its at its peak on this one.

The US Festival was basically Dave's Show.Get the two disc DVD and watch the bonus features. He had the world in the palm of his hand.He was charming and witty and was on a roll. The Show on the other hand...He comes off a little too loose early on.But he calms down and gets a little better. The band is really tight and consistent. My favorite part of the show is when the band starts jamming and plays a little bit off "Girls Gone Bad" (instrumental version) and "I'm So Glad".

The question is not, "Does love exist?"
But when she leaves, where she goes?
I got the feelin' she don't know either
Wait like the wind, watch where she blows

If you're looking for a kick ass show and are NOT looking for a reason to bash Dave, get it. Taken as a SHOW, it's great, I think. Yeah... it's a bit annoying when Dave doesn't sing at times, but take a look at him. Take a look at Ed. Take a look at all of them. They're all well and truly under the influence, but that's part of being the biggest band in the world, it seems. Dave still manages to entertain, even if he doesn't sing all the words. IMO, it's a good show, although I must admit it's the only Dave-era bootleg I've seen.

Its a "show" so take it for its worth. As its been said, its NOT VH at their best, but as a "show", its basically a must have for a VH fan.

Since it was shot for TV, its also the best quality Dave era bootleg available. There are a few pro shot 82-83 shows (Largo and a couple from South America), but US Fes is still a bit better quality.

Bottom line: If you want to see VH with Dave play an awesome show, get Largo 82 or Sao Paulo 83. If you want to see VH in arguably their most talked about show, get the US Fes.
    Better yet, get all 3!!

Very well put and true. I have 2 different copies of this show with extra footage by a freelance guy at the concert. Interested?
