I thought things were going great until Dave started talking about being on stage together for the first time in over a decade. Ed just walks off a little, Al stands there emotionless as usual, and Mike seems greatful he's standing beside EVH and Dave.

As to your question, I have it on vcd somewhere around here. Have no idea how to send it.

On video, check on Kazaa it's on there, but if you want to Dave hopped up on Coke and making an ass of himself, just throw in any TV appearence.

Im a fan of the Dave era, so not to have a biased opinion, but i dont see anything wrong with the way Dave acted. People obviously loved it. I think Eddie is the one who acted weird. Dave made what would have been just another boring awards show exciting. This is a rock band for God sake. Who cares if he was acting nutty. I think it looked dumb when Mtv intervied Eddie and Alex about it the next week and they acted like a couple of whiney ass little 12 year old girls with PMS. When i see the video though, Alex and Mike seem to be having a ball up there laughing and smiling.

The band was embarrassed, you could plainly see that, plus his actions started the free fall, that was the beginning of the end at that point, then he took a shot at the Stones during the press conference, now that's funny, the travelling side show act takes a shot at the Stones..

    I felt sorry for Beck.
Roth was hamming it up making a fool of himself, the rest of the band was just standing there looking cool, and Beck was trying to say a few words over the crowd.
It was Beck's moment not Roth's.

I felt sorry for Sammy,it wasn't Dave's fault that Beck couldn't take control of the situation.

Wasn't it the things that Dave said in the interviews and the way he acted backstage afterward that really pissed them off?
"I write and play music for a living, I'm not a businessman. It seems like all attorneys ever do is stir up trouble. They create problems that never existed and ream you for half your money, then they try to fix what they started and nail ya for whatever money you got left. I'll tell ya, man, I don't see how these guys sleep at night." --Edward Van Halen

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these were the MTV video awards, not nobel prizes right? Does anyone care who wins anything? No. It's all about spectacle and performances and yes outrageousness. Quick, who won best rap video in 2001 or best group video in 1999? Who cares. The artists who won probably don't remember. Everybody remembers VH's appearance though, wasn't that the point?

IMO opinion Ed needed to chill a bit but Dave did some pushing of his own.

Face it, these two guys want the control and the spotlight, and neither are willing to compromise much. Mix those igredients with 10 years bad blood and Lordy you've got trouble

Dave - be cool and don't say things like "Better fuckin not" to Ed.

And Ed, the night WAS about the reunion, not your hip.

    Kids.

And for the posts above, Beck LOVED the "reunion" on stage and Dave's antics. He was interviewed on VH1 shortly after and he felt no disrespect. Beck was very confused about the award that he was being given anyway, it was as if he felt he shouldn't have got it (Best New Artist or something) and hinted at that on stage.

It was the holy grail for 2 minutes, and I saw it live, standing ovation and all
