Van Halen - Easy, THEY ROCK! All versions, all songs, 'nuff said.

DLR Band [Tied with VH]- What band WOULDN'T be awesome with DLR in it?

Ronnie James Dio - I'm not going to start claming to be his biggest fan, as I only have three of his albums, but this guy is growing on me FAST! I'd love to go see one of his shows.

Alice Cooper - I missed out on a chance to see the Coop at a casino close to where I live, and then I missed out on him another time, and I've been kicking myself ever since. Great tunes from this guy

Ted Nugent - Alot of people think he's a loud-mouthed asshole, and I think he hates my country, but when it gets down to it, he's just a flat out, balls to the wall rocker. Puts on an excellent live show

Motley Crue - It was tough picking a band to finish this, but after seeing these guys in Detroit, they deserve to be on this list.

    1. Van Halen - Can't argue with their catalogue. 5150, VH1, F.U.C.K., Women And Children First, 1984...etc all classic albums

    2. Aerosmith - Always consistently realease good albums. Highlights for me are Permanent Vacation , Pump and Nine Lives. Last Years Honkin On Bobo still proves they can rock with the best. There older stuff is also very good.

    3. Megadeth - Best live concert I've ever been to and some great classic albums. I'm an old school fan with these guys and there haven't been too many better metal albums than Rust In Peace.

    4. Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast and Seventh Son are 2 of my favourite albums of all time. Whilst some of their other albums are a bit "light" in terms of content they always deliver at least 2 killer songs per album. 2003s Dance of Death proves they still have a lot to offer.

    5. Skid Row - Very tough final choice, but Skid Rows Slave To The Grind is close to being my favourite album of all time and their self titled debut album still gets a regular play on my stereo. 2003s Thickskin, whilst nowhere near as good as the before mentioned albums, still has some great songs on it.

Rolling Stones: Greatest rock’n roll band ever.

Genesis: Brilliant song arrangements, could listen them just play anything for hours.

Bon Jovi: Before it went to his his head, they could put on a live show/ jam as good as anyone.

Yeah it has been posted before, many times. But not for a while. So I will do this again...

    1) Van Halen (The have my favorite guitar player, drummer and singers in this band, and way too many great songs to mention!)

    2) Extreme (Great harmonies, great lyrics and guitar playing by Nuno)

    3) Whitesnake (Coverdale is a great singer, and I love the different musicians in this band over the years like Vai and Sykes and they rock hard!)

    4) Queensryche ( I love Geoff Tates voice, and great musicians in this band)

    5) Journey (Great musicians in this band too, they are the best at their type of rock, Neal Schon is awesome.)

This is very tough but I'll give it a go.

    1. VH -always have been and always will be,even though I like to wipe the VH3 years from my memory they were still my favourite band.

    2. The Angels -Aussie pub rock at its best. These guys don't get the recognition of your ACDC's etc but in my book they are Australias greatest ever band.Doc was a great frontman.

    3. Aerosmith - Love the old shit more than the new but hey at least their still out there crunching out stuff for their fans.

    4. Queensryche - Love the sound of Tates vocals and although most fans will say Operation is their best work I'm more of a fan of Empire.

    5. The Rolling Stones - The Jagger/Richards combo is hard to top when it comes to writing a classic rock'n'roll tune.

Honourable mentions have got to go out to Motley,U2,ACDC,Skid Row,Def Leppard and Soundgarden.

Megadeth - great SMART heavy metal music

Queensryche - a thinking mans metal band and geoff is an amazing singer

Dream Theater - All great musicians and they write great songs

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Its scary how many great songs he wrote in only a few years.

    Van Halen - Of course

AC/DC - Nothing like an AC/DC song to get the blood pumping. Like Kid Rock said "It's simple blues-based Rock and Roll."

Led Zeppelin - So many great tunes, so heavy and yet melodic at the same time. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and the immortal John Bonham. You could argue that each of them were the best at what they did in the band and together they were the best.

Rush - When I was younger I couldn't stand these guys. I guess I just didn't get their music. But slowly over time I have grown to love these guys. Neil Peart is the best drummer of all time, Geddy Lee is an unbelievable Bass player and Alex Lifeson is very underrated as a guitar player.

SRV and Double Trouble - What can you say about SRV? Well, alot, but I will simply say that SRV to me is EVH playing the Blues. He gave everything that he had on every performance, on every note that he played.

    1. Van Halen (let's call this all of the members solo work too and I like Sammy solo the best)

    2. Bruce Springsteen - best concert ever

    3. Foo Fighters - Dave Grohl is awesome. I just really dig this band and wish they had more output.

    4. Collective Soul - you can listen to their albums start to finish and enjoy everything they do.

    5. Bon Jovi - I can't help it. My wife loves them and it has rubbed off.

(honorable mentions - Zep, Stones, and ACDC)

1.Aerosmith-Why? They have been giving the fans music since
the eary 70's. Yes, some of the 90's stuff I didn't like too much
and they started going for the teen girls for 8 or 9 years, but
overall they one of the best catalogs ever. Some people think
they really aren't that great because not many of the band
members stick out... But they are a great BAND. It isn't a
great guitar player and a great frontman with a couple of
guys pitching in. They are great team that works together
to bring the music to the fans.

    1.Van Halen-Why? It's simple, they have a top 5 guitarist of
all time 3 frontmen who like them all or not, they brought
different and good things to the band. Sometimes I get tired
of hearing Dave's questionable vocals and go listen to Sammy
songs and sometimes I get tired of some of his ballads and
go back to the Dave era. But in the end, Van Halen gets played
    alot by me.

    3.Mothers Finest-Why? They bring somethings that I just don't
hear very often. They are band that can play just about any
type of sound you want and do well at it. A band that can play
Metal, R&B, Funk, Hard Rock, Soul is not something I hear
everyday. Joyce"Baby Jean"Kennedy has one of the most
soulful voices I have ever heard. This band done alot to open
me up to R&B, Funk and Soul.

4.AC/DC-Why? Because they completely kick @ss! Duh! They
got a deep catalog of hard rock and they stayed to true to
what they are. I prefer the Scott era because he's alot better
singer than Brian Johnson and he has a sarcasm type of
thing that BJ really doesn't have. However, Brian Johnsons
gritty vocals does fit with sounds like Thunderstruck, For
Those Of You That Rock, BallBreaker, Hells Bells and of
    course Back In Black.

5.The Temptations-Why? Because they are what Mo Town
is all about. One of if not the best vocals groups ever. Can
listen to these guys all day and don't get tired of hearing
    them.

    1. Gov't Mule --- modern-day classic rock, excellent musicianship, every single live show is different and unique, the music does the talking. "Where's my mule, where's my 40 acres?"

    2. Van Halen --- it is what it is.

    3. Steely Dan --- started out as a band, wound up being a partnership with a revolving door of outstanding musicians. Lyrical tall tales wrapped around intelligent grooves. Walter Becker can't sing for shit. Total mood music.

    4. From an influential standpoint, Led Zep. The legacy remains the same.

    5. Queensryche --- Tight rhythm section, two extremely capable guitarists, topped off with Geoff Tate's magical vocal stylings (which sound best when accompanied with Chris DeGarmo's backing vocals). I remember now....

Van Halen - greatest band and guitar player ever
AC/DC - Angus and Malcolm are underated guitar players, they stay true to what they do, rock.
Skid Row - Make brilliant hard rock music and really catchy tunes
Fun Lovin Criminals - cool music, saw them live last year, great show, plus Huey likes EVH
ZZ top - true rock music, Billy Gibbons is the man.
"I talked to the cancer. I told the f*cker the party was over" - Eddie Van Halen

"I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman". - Homer Simpson

I like too many bands, but here are 5 for this week:

U2 - just a lot of emotional power. And a great live show.

Van Halen - made "heavy" music accessable to me. Prefer the Dave era, but they had some good stuff with Sam at the helm, too.

Eagles - such a diverse group of individuals that created an amazing collection of music over a short time. Great storytellers to boot.

Beatles - so many different styles over the years, all of them good.

ELVIS - the King - again, musically diverse, probably the greatest voice ever recorded as "rock"
