LOVE The Beatles! I'm on a big Beatles kick at the moment and it's starting to drive the old lady crazy

We have this band here in the Chicago area called American English that do a spot on tribute to them. They even mix up their setlist every show, which is a plus! I've seen them about 3 times this summer and every time I've seen them they've played about 2.5 hours and probably only 30mins was the same

you guys mentioned the music to go with that stage production show of theirs, is that the album they're talking about in the Entertainment Weekly article (recent one with Jay Z on the cover) that says that George Martin and his son are making a remix record that's coming out in November? Ringo's jaw supposedly hit the floor?

I've tried to join every friggin' yahoo groups out there for them to get some info on this and have not seen one article on this!

    help!

LONDON (AP) - Paul McCartney says he's "doing fine," despite the turmoil surrounding the breakup of his marriage. McCartney, who appeared Monday at a news conference to launch his new classical album, "Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart)," did not comment directly on his split from his second wife, Heather Mills McCartney.

Asked how he had been coping in recent months, McCartney said: "I'm doing fine thank you. It's OK. I'm enjoying music. It's something I love to do. It's something that sustains me. So I'm enjoying it, finishing this project off and also the next one."

McCartney said he started "Ecce Cor Meum" when his first wife, Linda, was still alive. After she died of breast cancer in 1998, "it stalled me," the 64-year-old former Beatle said.

"I took a year or so before I could get back into it. The interlude in the middle is a particularly sad melody and is what got me going again," he said. "Her spirit is very much in this. It would have been her birthday yesterday so it's very appropriate."

McCartney said the lyrics of "Ecce Cor Meum" were inspired by what he believes is important in life.

"When I came around to thinking, `what do I want the words to say?' I just wrote down a whole load of things that interest me about truth, about love, about honesty and about kindness. Stuff that I thought was important in life."

"Ecce Cor Meum," which is being released by EMI Classics, is the pop star's fourth classical album. His first, "The Liverpool Oratorio," was released in 1991.
"Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack.Ē -- Gen. George S. Patton

Anyone else find it odd that Capital US/Apple would squash the release of "The Grey Album" (a "mash-up" of Jay-zee's "The Black Album" and The Beatles' "The White Album"), then go ahead and release "The Beatles' Love" ( a mash-up album by George Martin and his son for the "Cirque De Soliel(sp)" Beatles show) on the very same day that Jay-Zee releases his "comeback" album?

I got the album yesterday(no pun) and it's pretty cool. Some of the songs have more of a mash up than others.

I'm in the middle of listening to it now. Sounds pretty interesting. I'd really like to see the show in Vegas, it sounds incredible.

I happen to be in the middle of reading "Shout! The Beatles and Their Generation" by Phillip Norman. Fairly interesting read about the orign of the band (Stu, Pete Best, etc.) and goes all the way through (only about half through it right now). Pick it up if interested. It's an older book, so probably could be snagged fairly cheap.

    Love is freakin awesome.

You can tell George Martin put a lot of heart and pride in making it taking libertys with how John might want something or George from remembering how they were in the studio all those years ago. With Love I think he took the impossible which is tampering with perfection and acheived a interesting new take on Beatles music that's sounds fresher newer than anything out there now. I love it. I think some purist A Hard Days Night / She Loves You era Beatles fan might not like it cause the album relies heavely on the mid to late 60s Beatles but I love that part of their career so it's just perfect album for me. My girlfriend and I are heading down in April to see the show in Vegas. I can't wait.

    Some highlights.

Best version of Revolution to date. It's loud re-mastered and sounds perfect cranked.

Backwords words on Sun King into Something.

George Martins new string arangement for acustic While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Coolest intro to Get Back and nice alternate version of Get Back.

Come Together mixed with Dear Prudence sounds like it was meant to be.

The Bass part used during the break down NA sing along of Hey Jude with alternate screaming part. (You can tell that that will be a cool sing a long part of the LOVE show.)
Now comes my favorite part of the show. It's my favorite part of the whole evening. We've been on tour since March and I have no better time anytime then right now because I get to go sit down, have myself a nice cold one and listen to the greatest rock n'roll guitar player in the world. Mr. Eddie Van Halen. - Sammy Hagar
