What does everybody think about them? I heard two or three songs off of Exit Elvis. I think that they're pretty good, and to me, it sounds like a sequel to Van Halen 3 - not just lyrically, but musically as well. Does anyone know where I can get the rest of the tracks?

Yeah, the album is actually not too bad at all. I think i read somewhere that Gary wrote the song 'Left For Dead' with VH whilst he was still in the band... not totally sure if that is the case or not, but that song rocks the most

the last song on the album is also pretty crazy as it covers just about every style of music all in one song.

Buy the album. I've had it for a while now. My friend has had it on loan for about as long as I ever had it, though... does that say something? (He posts here -- if you read this, you know who you are! )

It's a good album, but you have to listen to it with an open mind. Gary's voice is back to its best on that album. Think Extreme but with a slightly rougher tone. He hits some very high notes. The ultra-note in the chorus of "Left For Dead" is great. In the studio, Gary sings a lot like Freddie Mercury did live.

Anyway, buy the album and give it a chance, I say. I suspect you'll enjoy it, especially if you like Gary.

"Left For Dead" was indeed a song he was working on with VH, it was mentioned in one of the updates on van-halen.com back in '99. I like that song the best, too! I think that song has been out for what, almost four years? It came out on that demo/sampler disc they had. Wow, time flies.

Great album. I have an few mp3s of them live and on one of them they play 'Once'. Its cool hearing that tune live.

Real shame that this band folded

Could you e-mail me those tunes? Thanks!
Yes, it is true that Left for Dead was written originally for the follow-up album to VH 3. However, when it made it to Exit Elvis, The lyrics were kept intact, but supposedly not the music. I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD ANY OF TRIBE OF JUDAH!!! I have to get my hands on that album! Amazon.com, you say?

Tribe Of Judah shows had badly Gary needs Nuno to make a good record. I listened to the songs on this album a bunch of times, but I don't like it. It's techno rock with hardly any guitar. Yuck!

I have the album. I like to work out to it. It's fairly techno. There's definately a lot of keyboards and sequencing going on. But all in all it's solid. Left For Dead is indeed a VH left over and is a rocking tune.

Damn right, you'll return it soon.

The album rocks. Gary is a very underrated singer. When I hear or read people saying he's a bad singer, I pretty much instantly write them off as closed-minded. Maybe it's harsh, but, really, to judge Gary you need to hear TOJ, Extreme, AND VH3. He's very versatile and it's a shame VH3 didn't work out -- I think it's a terrible shame that he'll always be seen as "the guy who didn't work out for Van Halen." I hope he has some success soon -- I really like him, and TOJ is a great album.
