It's amazing how about once a month someone posts something like this about throwing in VH3 for the hell of it and come away impressed. I think if you listen to it and expect to hear the next Unchained or Poundcake you'll never have an open mind about it. It's a great album although different from any other album. Also the 98 tour was awesome sound wise and the set list was top notch. I think if they made another album the next tour we would be hearing Hot For ATeacher RWTD etc... I also think Eddie could have stayed on the sober track as well. Gary was a true pro!

Gawd, how many "give III another chance" threads can be started in one month?

I wonder why there aren't as many Fair Warning threads created?

Because what is understood, need not be discussed

Is VH3 even still available? I haven't seen it at Best Buy or any record store for that matter, in a long time....

Except that we completely and totally understand the little red-headed mutant of the Van Halen discography. Further discussion can only result in the recurring conclusion, again and again.

Could it be that Fair Warning was an album capturing four musicians at the top of their game, while VHIII only has one? Do I win a prize?
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Yes, but that doesn't mean we can't talk Fair Warning aesthetics, genius, brown sound tone, Dave's lyricism, what the album was saying about the band at the time...the discussion level IS there, if explored.

But noooooo...3 is the much ballyhooed album. For me to poop on.

VH 3 and Fair Warning are both killer albums, much different from one another, but they both have their own identity setting them apart from many other VH albums.

Be careful, I think it's illegal to mention those albums together in the same sentence.

Even mentioning VH 3 and FW in the same breath may result in mild to moderate brain damage...ow.
