    Default Best Rock Magazine?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good rock magazine to subscribe to, and am having some problems. Basically im looking for a classic rock magazine, something that won't give me the latest on slipknot or some other lame band. I was considering subscribing to "classic Rock Magazine", but I think they're out of the U.K., so there might be a problem there? Another one I was considering was Guitar world, but that wouldnt really give me alot of news on bands, just the guitarists. Anyone have any suggestions? Hows Kerrang? Circus? Creem?

I used to get Metal Edge, but I got tired of hearing about bands like Saliva and Korn. Go with Classic Rock Magazine or Guitar World, IMO.

I agree too, try and go with Classic Rock.

Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!
    Bobby: Who else?
    Garth: Uh, me...and...and Wayne...
    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?
Wayne: Uh, an old man fashioning a kayak out of a log?

Remeber good old Circus, the magazine that showed basically the same pictures, only different sizes in different issues...How can we forget that one, I remember the last page always had rumors or news, and the time they had the big article on the progress of the 1984 album, revealing the song titles and what not.

I thought Hit Parader was the shizz, but that was twenty years ago.

I pretty much stick with the 'net.

A few years back, I would pick up Guitar World whenever there was an article with Eddie. When VH3 came out, I picked up the GW issue and read it cover to cover. They had an article where James Hetfield intereviewed Warren Hayes, which is how I discovered Gov't Mule. I discovered that while I don't play guitar, Guitar World was a magazine that typically covered the type of music I enjoy. I've been a subscriber for a few years now and I've been somewhat disappointed lately. There used to always be at least one article each issue that I was interested in. That's not so common anymore. Plus, you can bet that almost half of the issues each year will feature a dead guitarist on the cover. Do we not have enough quality guitar players alive today that are still making music? Do we still need a Kurt Cobain cover every year? I love Stevie Ray Vaughn, but how many "last interviews" can they dig up? I'm starting to rant, so let me just say that I'd prefer they had one "dead guitarists we miss" issue each year and move on to something current.

I got an offer in the mail to subscribe to Blender for 1 year for $8. I figured, eight bucks, what the heck. I've gotten 2 issues. The first had Snoop Dog on the cover and the second had Mariah Carey on the cover. Oh well. The Mariah Carey issue featured a lot of Mariah clevage and had a Motley Crue article. Not a total waste. We'll see how the next 10 issues go (although having J. Lo as the cover artist next month doesn't bode well).
    The only adventures I regret
    are the ones I missed,
and the thought of all the pretty girls
    I never tried to kiss.
