BOBW is good, but, man, get the original albums (especially the Dave-era ones)... there's some GREAT stuff on them -- much better than some of the cuts that made it to BOBW. VH1, Fair Warning, and 1984 are hard rock classics. VH2 is underrated, and so is DD. WACF is pretty damn good, too. Those first six are amazing, really.

Don't listen to any body who wants you to exclude sammy hagar albums......Diver Down is only in my collection because I wanted to complete the collection. It's just not consisent enough (though it does have some g ood stuff on it just not enough) and any Hagar album (and IMO III)is better than that. And I'd rank 5150 and F.U.C.K. up there with any of them

I didn't suggest he should exclude the Sammy albums -- I merely suggested the first six first. Anyone who was "there" (not that I was) discovered the band that way anyway, didn't they?

And would you really say OU812 is a better album than Diver Down? I wouldn't. But anyway... this shouldn't be a Sam -vs- Dave thing.

Gee it's nice to hear a fresh perspective on all this. But you really need to add (and listen to) all of the VH albums to complete your musical collection, to seriously enjoy all that is VH.

Ive got all of the albums except for 3 and let me just say that every time I listen to all of them in order (VH1 to Balance), I feel like im a time warp, just going from album to album. Definatley a good stress reliever.

BOISE STATE BRONCOS! - They're awesome. Deal with it!

11/16/04 - VAN HALEN in Boise, Idaho. Changed my life forever

8/8/06 - Sammy Hagar and the Wabos w/Michael Anthony in Boise, Idaho. Sam and Mike still kick ass

Definitely worth it to mellow out, one album after another. Sometimes you just need a fix of the boyz in action. At least I do. I actually listened to some of the other songs on III besides the 2 I usually listen to and they were ok if only to hear something different from Edward instead of the ones we've heard already. It's nice to hear him play something different. Could've done without the singing, but oh well............................................
