Can't stand it anymore. They should stop playing it. There's plenty of other songs I'd rather hear.

    Did Gary Ever Sing Jump?

I've heard the Dave and Sammy versions, but never one by Gary. Anyone see VH in concert with Gary and did he sing Jump? Was it any good?

I love Jump! It's never been one of my favorite =VH= songs, but I've always enjoyed it. Just because its poppier than most of the Dave stuff doesn't make it and less of a Van Halen song. It rocks and its a killer tune.

    A classic.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

I'm sure Brett will do something about this thread. Close it? Or just ban Menlow ?

I've voted for the first option, but then again - I've been listening to the whole Van Halen catalogue since 2000 only. Well, that happens to be 1/4 of my lifespan on the other hand, so who knows who has more credit here

One of my first real memories of VH was listening to Jump. I must have been in Jr. High. I remember learning to play it on the keyboard. I wouldn't listen to it today, unless it was on the radio. I think it was over played... I got tired of it. But when I hear it, it still brings back those memories!

Loss of Control is a close second, my friend, indeed.

But no, in the pantheon of Dave tuneage, Jump is the cherry-topped pile of stinking keyboard manure in all the Halen kingdom. Fucking hated the song in '84, hated that it became so popular, hated that the band had to adopt it as one of their time-tested anthems, hated the fact that I had to hear the damned track at every damned live show since...

Jump sucks sweaty swollen mud-caked moldy cow balls.

That being said, I'll listen to it if my only other choice is How Many Say I.
