SAN ANGELO, Texas - The drummer for the Los Lonely Boys was arrested Thursday along with his wife on a marijuana possession charge after police searched their home, authorities said.

Ringo Garza, 23, and Lenora Garza, 24, were booked on $1,000 bail Thursday morning and released shortly after, according to jail records.

Authorities said the search was conducted after two women filed a police report a day earlier after a night of drinking at the couple's home. The women filed the report at a hospital. Further information about the report wasn't available.

Garza and his wife each face a misdemeanor charge of possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.

"Ringo and his wife would never do anything like what is being said about them," Los Lonely Boys manager Kevin Wommack told the San Angelo Standard-Times for its Friday editions. "We have faith that the people of San Angelo, the courts, the prosecutors and the jury will be fair in this matter."

The arrest was the drummer's second for possession of marijuana. He pleaded no contest to a similar charge in 2003.

The Tex-Mex flavored rock 'n' roll group hit the national spotlight in 2004 with their Grammy award-nominated debut album "Los Lonely Boys."

"Ringo and his wife would never do anything like what is being said about them"

Sounds like there was more than smoking and drinking going on.

I'm going to guess Ringo burned one of them with his crack pipe ala Rick James.

    Los Lonely Boys Appreciation Thread...

Rarely does a band come around these days that actually makes me want to spread the news to others...yet folks, these kids are the real deal. They are 3 brothers who used to back up their dad when he did shows.
The stage presence and interplay between them is terrific.

I first discovered them on CMT...then picked up their "Texican Style" DVD.
It's a live performance from Austin, in 2004.

Now I'll be honest, the guitar player (Henry) won't make you forget Stevie Ray Vaughn, but that isn't the point...he (along with JoJo on bass and Ringo on drums) are pure entertainers, and damned decent musicians.

The songwriting is good, and the vocals are truly what sells the tunes, along with the fact that they genuinely are charming people, especially the youngest, Ringo, who really has an endearing sense of humor.

They have a new live cd available today (Feb. 23, 2005) called "Live at the Fillmore", and we blasted it at work today...highly recommended!

Of course it includes "Heaven", and also includes a neat version of War's "The Cisco Kid", and a version of "La Bamba"!

For the uninitiated, I'd recommend the afore mentioned "Texican Style" DVD as an introduction.

It was neat to see them win a Grammy, well deserved...

Well...they won the Grammy for the tune "Heaven", yet they have even better tunes, such as "Hollywood", "Velvet Sky" and for a cool groove, "Man To Beat".

From the "Live" DVD (for a great laugh) I'd recommend "Supper Time", a tune they claim to have written after getting off Willie Nelson's bus !
    (Hell..it does include 2 kazoo solo's...)

Out of alot of the young bands out there. They are probably the most genuine and most likable. They don't go on Guitar World and talk about how bands suck this, and that. They let the music do the talking. The cd is great
The question is not, "Does love exist?"
But when she leaves, where she goes?
I got the feelin' she don't know either
Wait like the wind, watch where she blows

Have any of you guys heard Cottonfields and Crossroads? It's a song
they did and it's about 11 minutes long. It totally kicks @ss!!

    I'd say:

    Velvet Sky
    Heaven
    Cottonfields and Crossroads
    Crazy Dream
    Real Emotions
    Hollywood

Most of the other stuff is pretty good aswel.

Those are the best ones that I've heard.
