    POD Tone!

Hey, I dont claim that the pod is the best because i would rather have a real tube amp like a 5150, soldano , Bogner..... and stuff like that . But I love the sound of steve vai's tone on the whitesnake album and I knew that he used soldanos on thet record, so I dialed one up and on the POD and with a tube screamer at half way and I have come pretty close to getting that tone at bedroom levels. Sure its not the real thing but It works pretty well for a poor man like me. any body else have good tone on the POD?

    Default Randy Rhoads

I made a pretty good Randy Rhoads/ Crazy Train tone on my POD using a JCM800 and some chorus...I think it sounds pretty close..but hey, Its my interpretation of Randys sound. If you want Ill tell you how to dial it in to your PODxt and then you can tell me what you think.

I don't know how you guys are getting good tones out of that bean. I've tried my xt through the computer, into the front of my amp, in the effects return only, into a poweramp and cab, into my home stereo, with headphones. None of these produced good results. I've wasted countless hours tweaking this thing and have never gotten anything even close to something resembling good tone. I use it now in my effects loop, for effects only, and its pretty good that way. I find the amp models to be horrendous for live playing. Hats off to you if its working for you, but I've wasted enough time tweaking that damn thing. Now my little Tech 21 Trademark 10, I can get that baby sounding sweet in about 15 seconds. You'd swear there was tubes in that thing. Run it into a 4 X 12 and you've got some great tone going on.

the pod is a good bedroom amp...at low levels it sounds great...i'l agree with ya on that...but when you try running it through a poweramp for gigging puposes it falls a little short...in my opinion...that being said, i love my vetta HD

Default I use POD for recording

due to proximity of neighbors. While it will never replace my Marshall, it is pretty handy for recording. Here's some links to some of my tunes recorded with a POD.
