Default i really need to know

hi everyone,im new here this is my first post.
ive read heaps of the korean v usa wolfgang guitars.
would it be correct to say that the only way to tell them apart easily when buying online is the signature on the back of the head stock.
if there is another way to tell without playing the wolfie does anyone know what it is.id really hate to spend top dollar on a copy.
    thanks

I think another way to tell is the tuners , I think they are different, the koreans may have grover tuners on them and those tuners in my opinion are horrible.

If it's from the factory and it has a nice quilt top it's a korean model.
The US speacials don't have quilt tops unless they're custom shop models, or have been done aftermarket, and then you wouldn't be paying korean prices.

The serial number are also different. American Wolfie's serial number with 910........, the Korean ones don't. You can also tell what kind of special it is by looking at where the word "special" is located on the headstock. On the American special if you look at the last "g" in wolfgang you will see that the "s" in special is to the right of the "g." On the Korean special if you look at last "g" in wolfgang you will see that the "s" in special starts to the left of the "g."
