Default The Marshall 5150 is a lie!! (apparently)

Sat with the man himself Jim (I made the damn things) Marshall yesterday, he and his co workers said NO and even IF, they could not use the name 5150.

Straight for the horses mouth. What a cool man!!!

Yep... it had been reported from several others that were at Winter Namm... appears it was a misprint in Guitar world and the band referenced was actually using Peavey 5150's...

    Default wouldnt rule it out....

I wouldnt rule it out...I mean Ed literally just dropped Peavey so....
Wouldnt it be cool though, if Marshall and Ed came up with a VanHalen Amp.

I can picture it as a Marshall Plexi modified of course. Maybe some different resistors and tubes and some sorta power brake intergrated....Painted red with white and black stripes....that would rule...

    What do you guys think?

Pilo... Jim Marshall has been quoted as saying he's not sure he'd even want to go down that road with Edward so IMO that would pretty much rule it out.

I think part of it would be I bet the Van Halen name as a brand would try to upstage the Marshall name and also direction as far as EVH telling them what to do, how to do it, etc... to build it. I don't think JM wants the headaches. I bet Hartley's pockets will be a little lighter but he'll keep his sanity...

Sorry, Ed, I'm a huge fan but the Charvel move was not only cheesy, but reeks of trying to whore out your name. The Charvel is definitely a step back compared to the EBMM and Wolfgangs. What a joke they are. I'm a nobody guitar player and even I would be embarassed to have my name on a Charvel one dimensional guitar.

He probably didn't even have any input on this project. I'm sure if he did, they would be worth a shit.

Maybe Ed's not even planning on doing any more signature amps, maybe he's just going to play Soldano's, or his old Marshall's again, who knows.

I'm sure those EVH Charvels are nice guitars, but there's not alot to 'em and they're certainly not worth that kind of money. You could easily have a company like Warmoth build you a guitar that would basically be exactly the same for well under $1,000.

I have to agree 100%, l haven't played a evh charvel and don't care to, l think those guitars are for the collects only, theres no way in hell l would want one of them, l will be just constantly thinking, "is this all it does?" and if the pick up is like the wolfgang pick up, l'll hate the sound, sorry Wolfgang players, the Wolfgang suck's IMHO, it's just a cheap knock off of the musicman.
